Remarks

The college is one of the best colleges in the north east India. The college is reknowed for it's academic excellence and great location also. The college even attracts foreign students from various countries.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was very insightful and provides a great learning experience. Inspite of this, they don't provide a huge syllabus much to the joy of the students studying there. We studied poems, novels of Indian literature and abroad.

Internships Opportunities

The college do provide internships from various companies that visit the the final year students each year. I personally didn't apply for internship but if one wishes they can and I can assure you that the learning experience it provides is immense. My friends who joined told me so.

Placement Experience

4

Just like the internship, companies also offer jobs with fair package. To qualify one needs to sit for a interview with the companies that visit the college. The jobs are pretty attractive the chance for growth in these particular jobs is huge.

College Events

4.5

Several attractive college events occur throughout the year. Examples are fresher's program. Hostelers program(stephenian show and Margaretian show), farewell programs, teachers day and the much awaited college week.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees vary according to the course you opt for. The fees for arts courses are around 10-12k per year and the science stream is 20-25k per year. Since the college is semi-government and run by the msfs it is very cheap to study here. It is a Bosco institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does provide the national scholarships that are granted to the students. One needs to register online and the paperwork can be done with the help of the coll who even mail it to the concerned authorities for you.

Campus Life

5

The extracurricular activities in the college are a huge buzz and very active. Various cultural and sports activities take place throughout the year and the college encourages the students to join such events.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are two hostel run by the college. One for boys and one for girls. The men's Hostel is called stephen hall and can house around 300 students in all. The mama Margaret hall is the women's hostel and it can house around 300 women too. The fees are also very cheap with a admission fees of 4000-5000 rupees and a monthly fees of 1300 rupees for boys and 1400 rupees for girls.

Alumni/Alumna

The college alumni is very active and all final year students are required to register in the college alumni to stay a part of the college even after leaving. The alumni is responsible for catering to senior students and helping them in their further studies.

Exam Structure

The college just recently started the semester system with 6 semesters in 3 years. There are 2 exams each semester. One qualifier and one final. The exams are for 75 marks in the final exam and 25 marks are allotted for internal assessment.

Admission

I applied for the college online and I had to appear for an entrance exam for a duration of 1 hour. The results got declared a day later and I got selected. The test was very open ended. There were a few grammar questions and a personal description of a given poem.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty has a good strength and the English department particularly are one of the most intelligent ones in the college. They are easily approachable and provide a healthy and fun learning experience. They are good in guidance and still supportive and open as a friend is to us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was not my actual mind to opt my major which is history, since it was hard to find open colleges late I had to adjust to it. It might be better since I had a habit of remembering things that are upto no use in the present or maybe better for securing jobs as it is quite in needy in these aspects. It's still not very clear in my part but it partially taught us the basics It gives us 3 hours of time per paper and it's not very different or very hard because it has been always the same pattern along with the portions

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quite vast. But it only consisted of three subjects for my batch before NEP. We only have Western music, Hindustani classical music and regional music. But courses with NEP has a lot. And not just focuses on music but extras too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The way they prepare the question is the main reason for me to choose this college. They really provide not only bookish knowledge but also how to deal with the real world. The examination that they conduct are very reasonable because they give us the amount of time that a normal students need to be prepared for an examination. So I think it's quite reasonable and nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In UCC, earlier my brother and sister also studied and i could not make in Anthony's and Edmund's, so I choose this college. The allocation of college is one the best I have seen so far. It is best for those who want to be something in life because the college is little bit far from the main town and the local near this college also not allow any consumption of alcohol, drug, weed etc in the village. They even not allowed to sell them. I like this college as it is. So I don't want to comment on the improvements. The timing odlf exams is similar with other colleges, 3 hours.

NEHU syllabus is quite good I should say, especially with the introduction of the NEP(New Education Policy) Well regarding the curriculum, I would say the teachers play and important part regarding that situation. However, exams or tests are becoming quite a headache for the students compared to the duration of our courses

I choose the college because as a North Eastern NEHU university is considered one of the best education providers and St Mary's is the best option for women and as have taken geography the campus has the best view with facilities in terms of practical and surveys for geography students teachers are also really reliable and down to earth really helpful and they don't prefer using local language they teach in English so that it will give the student the comfort they wanted exams are also been conducted every semester and it's difficult to pass but the facilities are good
