Course Curriculum Overview

5

In the first year they teach the basic and common subjectsin every course. This course is good if someone has interest in learning more about computers and about the algorithm of how softwares work. In college they teach little things that students need in future but they specially focused on personality development and motivates and help students to gain necessary skills they need in order to get good job. The exams for this course is difficult like other course but the difficulty depends on how you study.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many internship opportunities as many companies approach students for internship. College helps students to take internship and make their resume strong. They also motivate students to take part in technical events which helps them to horn their skills which helps students a lot while getting a job.

Placement Experience

4

The placement ratio is good. They provide many placement opportunities and so many companies come for the placement. They provide internships in third semester so it is safe to say that students are eligible for campus placements from third semester. The companies which come for placements are infosys, Reliance Private Limited etc and many other famous companies. According to the research the highest package of 45 LPA and have the average package of 7 to 8 LPA. But the number of students getting good placements is not 100 percent as they say in advertisements. Taking placements is all upto student's skill and hard work.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for the course I am doing is 66650 per semester which makes 133300 rupees per year but first semester fees is higher which was 68650. This feels range is good for someone from middle class background. Before admission registration fees of 11000 rupees was payed from which 10000 rupees was added to the fees of first semester. Hostel fees is also much reasonable. Considering every events and everything the estimate fees till the course completion will be around 11 to 12 lakhs for 4 years including other expenses like eating outside.

Campus Life

4

Despite having so many flaws the campus life is good. There are cultural events every month, an annual fest, and many technical and non technical events. Also when it comes to providing study material, the libraries are a big help as there are more than one library and everylibrary has almost every book related to subjects which students need. The classrooms aren't that good. They don't have anything just fans for making students and professors relieved from heat which is not enough, specially in summers it is tough to sit and study in the classrooms in such heat for both students and professors. Other than study, college also organise many sports events like volleyball competition, football, cricket, badminton competition. Students play from college team and also in university level. But the major problem is maintaining attendance and playing and participating in any events at the same time is difficult (as 75% attendance is necessary). There are so many clubs technical and nontechnical which organises most of the cultural events, technical and non technical events, seminars etc. These clubs also work under department of student welfare club.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms of hostel is in very good condition and well furnished. They provide basic things like an almirah, slabs, study tables, etc. but the food they provide is sometimes descent and sometimes tasteless, they also provide snacks in which they give fast foods at evening. The menu for food is different everyday and they also give desserts along with food at dinner. Despite this, they provide good facilities. If someone wants to take hostel, they should book a room when they come for admission and pay the full fees afterwards. One can choose if he/she want to take a room of four or three or two students and fees are different according to that.

Admission

This college is good for low budget and good infrastructure. Some colleges have high fees and some are too far away. I choose this college over others because of these reasons. And also despite other colleges are better than this but upon researching I found this college worth for this amount of fees as compared to others. Also for taking admission in this college, there are a little requirements like having percentage more than 60 in physics and mathematics in 12th and it doesn't require any competitive exams. But one must appear in JEE to take admission.

Faculty

4

The ratio of faculty to student is almost equal. Some faculties support students and some do something that hurts students. There are mixed opinions about faculties. The decision making of the faculties regarding holidays and exam date sheets almost disappointing many times. There is so much strictness during exams, students have to fill multiple attendance form between writing exams. But some decisions made by them makes students satisfied. The club's for student welfare organises every function, which is good for entertainment and education.

Night Life

4

The gym college provide is not good. There are gyns almost in every hostel but some are small some don't have proper equipments. The cafeteria is good, the food in cafeteria is descent. There are libraries in every block. Day scholars can hangout in college almost till 6 pm. Some hostel are inside campus so students can hang inside campus at late night but some hostels are outside campus and gates are closed till 10 pm. But timing is different for girls hostel as the main gate of their their hostel gets closed early in evening and no girl is allowed to go out in campus after a certain time. During evening, everyone including girls hang out in campus freely. Almost everything is available in campus like food, stationary items and many other necessary things. Dispensary is opened 24x7 in case if someone gets sick. When any hostel student wants to go outside, they first have to make a pass signed by warden and make it back untill 8 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
