- The campus is very huge encompassing institutes of commerce, technology, pharmacy, law and management which provides a multidisciplinary development
- Being one of the oldest private engineering colleges of Gujarat, its structure has a different vibe to it with properly ventilated and looked after classrooms.
- There has been an addition of a new library called the NIMA library which spans over 5 floors and has a vast collection of books and reading materials for both academic and non academic needs.
Dislikes
- The strict criteria of minimum of 85% attendance in each subject in each semester.
- On-campus hostel facility is available only for UG-girls and for students pursuing PG and higher degrees and not for UG-boys.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college follows the latest NEP-2020. The currciulum is revised after every few years with the help from industry experts, experienced professors and industry experts. The curriculum is made to give all around development to the students.
Internships Opportunities
The students have to do a compulsory social internship in the summer break of 2nd sem. Afterwards, a short technical internship at end of 6th sem and can opt to do a an internship or a research project in their 7th sem. The college and the professors try their best to use their professional connections to give the best opportunities to their students. Companies like google, microsoft, arm have taken students for internships
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are very good and almost has a 100% placement each year. The highest salary packages in CSE are 48LPA, in ECE is 35LPA, in EIE is 15LPA. Companies like Qualcomm, nxp, arm, Google, oracle, microsoft come to our campus for placements and internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
The per semester fees is 1,18,330 Rupees per semester The college provides various scholarships on merit-cum-needs basis and merit basis. The merit scholarship is given to the first 2-3% rank openers of each branch.
Campus Life
The overall campus life is really very exciting and keeps you busy all the time. Each department has their own departmental club which organizes events and workshops throughout the year. There are 5 technical clubs which take part in different technical competitions within and outside India. There are also clubs for various interests of all the students
Admission
There are various factors which need to be considere while choosing a college. I decided to take admission in Electronics and Instrumentation branch in the Institute of Technology, Nirma University after considering many things. The major reason being the brand value of the college and its amazing alumni network. The average salary packages over here are better than majority of colleges into which I was getting admission. Also, in a place like Nirma one can meet people from different backgrounds and from different upbringings which allows for a new perspective. The lab facilities are very much up-to-date and each lab has proper equipment to perform the necessary experiments.
Faculty
More than 90% staff of institute of technology has a Ph.D. in their rrespective fields and the rest are currently pursuing it. The faculty have come from various IITs/NITs and have a very vast and varied experience. All faculty are very much approachable and very much inclined to help the students. During the course of a semester, a class test, mid-sem and an end-sem exam is taken along with practical exams if a subject requires it. The end-sem counts for 40% of the final grade while the rest of the exams and special assignments make up for the rest of the 60%
Night Life
At night, the campus is on one the best things to visit with all the lights and peace. The nightlife can mostly be experienced by hostellites and students which are a part of the technical clubs. The college is on the main road so there is activity throughout the whole night
