Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is pretty much relevant to our field and pretty much easy. It is designed in such a way that if makes is easier to learn and understand. Right now there is a high demand in the market for AIML engineers and also we can see how widely the field of Artificial intelligence is increasing and this is reason I opted for this course due to its relevance in the industry right now. The teachers are pretty much good however it would be more good if they could give more real world learning to us . We are not taken for any industry visit or for any factory visit which is indeed a negative point. They provide us factual and textbook knowledge but we are not given any real world education. The exams are taken monthly and apart from which there are quizes which are held after completion of each unit and they also help the teachers to grade the students and provide them with internal marks accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are various internship opportunities given to the students and you can easily grab them if really are focused on your course and you study hard. The companies which provide these internship opportunities are Wipro, Infosys , Microsoft, etc. Also depending upon your knowledge and your level you are given your role . The stipend varies between Rs.10000 to Rs.30000 and even more. A person getting an internship gets nore priority in a job interview and Is often selected over other candidates.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of the college are pretty decent. If you are an average student or even a below average student you can get placed at four lakhs per annum which is the average. However if you work hard and manage to practice most of the Dsa questions you can easily crack a job upto eight lakhs to ten lakhs per annum. The students become eligible for the campus placements as soon as they reach the eighth semester. However there are three sections divided on the basis of your CGPA. The students in section A are given a priority in the campus placements as they have much higher CGPA than rest of the kids. Big Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Amazon and Microsft come for campus recruitment and til date the highest package given by a company is about fifty lakhs. Most of the students gets placed at average packages however if you are living your life too carefree or having too much fun you will be left without a job and no offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in NIET for B.Tech in CSE (AIML) is as follow: For 1st year: Rs.165600 (Including the admission fees) For 2nd, 3rd and 4th year: Rs.150000 The breakthrough of this fees is as follow: Tution fees: Rs.109400 External Exam fees: Rs.7500 Internal Exam fees: Rs.4000 Department Society and Outsearch Activity: Rs.7600 Career Planning and Technical Grooming: Rs.7850 Institute Industry Interface: Rs.5400 Apart from this fees during the time of admission you have to give a one time fees for the following: Registration fees: Rs.4750 Student Welfare: Rs.5000 Tbl: Rs.9100 And you have to also deposit a sum of Rs.5000 as the security deposit which is refundable as soon as you complete your degree. In total you have to give Rs.625000 for this course at NIET And this fees keeps in increasing by some thousands for new batches each year so it might vary when you go for your admission. The College provides special scholarship to students belonging from PWs and SC and ST caste students which reduces their fees upto 50-70% depending on person to person.

Campus Life

4

My overall college has been pretty decent. I also joined a Poetry Club and there are various other clubs for you to join like Dance Clubs , Singing Clubs and Acting Clubs. You can join whichever club you want and they provide you with opportunities to perform on college events. There are not much events held at NIET but there are 3-4 events which are held every year. The first one is Padharo Mhare Desh which is held every year in the month of September or October. The next event is Jagmag which is generally a diwali fest held every year near diwali basically is October or November. At both these events you can show your dancing, singing or acting skills. My club provide me to anchoring and Farzi Mushaira at these type of events . I myself has done anchoring at various events. Also if you are a fresher there is a good news for you , you will get your freshers which the earlier batches did not get. The culture of organising fresher has started from 2024 only. Each club is given its special place to get ready for events and their performance. Talking about the library, you will find a wide range of books on all aspects related to your course. However if you are interested in reading story books or something like that then there are only limited number of such books which are available at another library run by Sangrachna, a club.

Admission

I chose this college because it was near to my home ( about 10 kilometres) and in Greater Noida right now there are only 2 colleges who provide good Placements. They are G.L Bajaj and then NIET. I first applied for G.L Bajaj but I did not got selected as their cut off was much higher than NIET so then I had to choose NIET as my second best option. Comparing G.L Bajaj and NIET I would say that G.L Bajaj provides more placement opportunities, have better infrastructure and overall provide a better curriculam than NIET. Also they organise a lot of events regularly inviting various number of famous celebrities like Tripti , Shreya Ghosal , Rajkumar Rao etc which is not at all possible in NIET. Talking about the admission process of our college there are two ways in which you can apply to our college, first through direct admission and other through counselling. In direct admission you have to provide your 12th Class marksheet and on the basis of your percentage you are given the branch. My 12th class percentage was 85+ and then I got the AIML branch. However if you are applying through counselling you can get a seat in the following branch with jee percentile 75+ and if you belong to OBC you can get that for 60+ percentile. The admission process is long but is easy as the faculty members are supporting and approachable during the admission.

Faculty

5

The faculty at NIET is pretty decent and they are good at teaching. For each subject there is a different teacher and each teacher teaches 70 students at a single time. The relationship between the students and faculty is also very good and the teachers are always ready to help whenever we need them. During my first year I liked most of my teachers including Nitash Sir who taught me Maths, Anemone Mam who taught me Physics and Leema Mam who was always there to help students. However majority of the faculty are good there are some teachers who might not like you and then treat you accordingly, you don't really have to pay attention to them. Talking about the exams there are three sessionals held each in a different month and then semesters exams are held. Out of the three sessionals, one sessional is held online and the other two offline. You have to give all the three sessionals in order to gain good internal marks. Marking is easy and exams are also easy , if you have studied thoroughly even before 1 week of exam you can get pretty decent marks. All the students pass here with one or 2 exception. The paper and checking is easy but if you are caught cheating during the exams a UFM is made against you and pretty much are the chances that you have a paper back for that subject.

Night Life

3

There is basically no night life for the students of NIET as the campus management does not allow students to go outside of the campus during night. There are strict timings for students and specially girls. The Hostel timing for girls is 7pm and for boys it is 10pm. Also if you are looking for a hangout place near college there is nothing interesting you will find except for a cafe Pantra near the college where you can eat and chill . Other than that there is nothing near the college. And also the locality is not safe to roam freely around a night alone. Students at the hostel chill with each other by watching movies or their favourite shows and specially if there is someone's birthday we enjoy a lot by celebrating. There are gyms and library in the college but gym is only available at morning before classes and in evening after classes and library only is available till 6pm and there are no cafeteria inside the campus only a canteen which also closed at 9pm.

Students become eligible for placement from the 6th semester, and a mix of IT, consulting and service based companies visit with multiple entry levels offers. The students also get to apply to a degree that will be available for them in a specific area placed. My plan after the degree is to focus on implementing my skills and aim for better opportunities outside campus.
