Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because it covered filmmaking and insight into journalism. It gives good idea about journalism and its practises. the techincal parts are quite weak and can be improved by providing more practicals. Exams are very rare and easy

Fees and Financial Aid

the total course fee for 6 semseters is approx 5,40,000. students who achieve a specifi percentage in thier 12th grade are eliglibe for a scholarship in the first sem. from second sem onwards, the college offer fee waivers to students based on their academic perfomances during the sem exams. class rankers gets a percentage of fee waived for the subsequent semesters.

Campus Life

4

the main event of the year is called. aminova, happens once a year and its a 3 day event. the library is mid and small, but the books are decent the engineering department has very good facilities and labs. Football, vollyball, cricket, tebale tennis are all really good, i used to play football, all football related events like leagues etc, its very happening. the clubs are all active

Admission

i had applied to some collegs under the mumbai university including Xaviers but there was no response. i got a seat in many of my local colleges in Kerala. Admission process to amity is Quite simple and convenient. you can apply at any time without rigid deadlines and as long as you meet the min criteria of clearing. i think it is 50% in 12th grade. admission is almost guranteed

Faculty

3

there is a good faculty to students ratio of 6-7 faculty members for 60 students, the faculties are generally freindly and approachable. one of my favorite faculty members was Gangadhara Menon, who taught us marketing in a really fun and engaging way, making the subject enjoyable and easy to understand. there were a few faculty members i didnt like much, basically because they didnt care enough to consistently come for classes which felt disappointing. the exams are not very tough. and around 90-100% of the students clear them. the course curriculum is relevant but i must say it is a bit outdated

Night Life

4

I was a day scholar so it was different for me from other students, the hostel rules are very strict. you have to enter the college premise by 6PM and hostel building by 9PM. The gym is mid, library is limited. by 9Pm hostel students have to go inisde and day scholars have to leave campus. famous hangout place- MRC canteen, boys canteen, Football Court, skate Curve etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
