Remarks

The college ask for additional unethical fees,like annually ask for pta, lab fee ,maintaince fee in every semester,fine for not attenting any occational programmes.fine for violating college dress code etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

Civil Engineering is a continuously evolving discipline. As technology has advanced the challenges facing the modern civil engineer has also increased. The course is designed to have an effective blend of engineering applications and mathematical rigor on students.ADD-ON and Bridge Courses are provided by the department for all students with a view to make them employable, exposing them to new areas. Such courses include STAADPro (Analysis and design software), Primavera and Microsoft Project (Project Management software), AutoCAD, REVIT, etc. All the participating students will be provided with certificates

Internships Opportunities

Recently my college conducted The International Conference on Numerical Analysis, Computing and Applications in science and engineering and technology ( ICNumACA)18 organized by the Department of Mathematics, Mohandas college of engineering and technology ,Anad was officially inaugurated by Dr. George Gheverghese joseph, Professor university of Manchester, UK ,cgpc for placement ,department related workshop and internship during holiday.

Placement Experience

MCET has a very good record for placing students after training them which is done through CGPC (Career Guidance and Placement cell). The CGPC orientation programs equip the students to face interviews, resume preparation etc. The aim of the CGPC is to provide 100% place for all the eligible students.s ome of the companies are wipro ,hcl,usst,etc

There are mainly 2 major fest take place in my college ,one is tech fest known as colloquium and other is illuminati which is intercollegiate annual cultural fest.a ls there is sports meer take place annually.there is no forcefull participation.the prizes are worth lakhs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The extra fee for management students or high annual income students there is an additional 25000 lab fee is too much also bus fare of 16000 is applicable for short distance hostel,we have no idea about special fee of 2500.they say it is for pta.during 4th year they asked for 4000 rupees also they buy additional maintainance charge.

Campus Life

My college has one of the best indoor basket ball stadium in india.In 2018 the intercollege basket ball tournament was conducted in my college.labs are super spacious with top engineering equipments.my college also promote premier legue for other sports too.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel has good atmosphere.but the food is little dissopinting.need improvement in entertainment purpose too.probably i think my college hostel is above average when we take food and entertainments into consideration

Alumini association is strong bonded with college.always make there appearence.they also do certain job oriented seminars for current students.they make intentional other contribution in students and alsobOver the years, our alumni network has expanded across the globe and industry sectors. This serve as a medium to maximize benefits of being part of this vibrant MCET Alumni network. From current events to job referrals to entrepreneurship support to crowd sourcing to nostalgic activities, it bring all under one umbrella.

Exam Structure

Course fee:50000,for management students or high annual income students there is an additional 25000 labfee, bus fare of 16000,hostel mess and canteen 8000,store advance 2000,common bus fee 500,special fee of 2500,and exam fee of 3600.

Admission

First applied for keam exam.by qualifying the exam i opted for civil engg in mohandas college of engg and technology.the admission procedire was fast.the seat are limited for 60 students.probably after first allotment or during first allotment we get admission as per desired ranks.

Faculty

All proffessors are more than 15+ year experience on there field.assistant lectures are from nit iit background.MCET has several research events that are conducted throughout the year under the name of Prabandh and Techsyond where research papers are invited from faculty, students and research scholars. MCET is also a center for online training program for faculty members development program conducted by IIT Bombay & Kharagpur under the Ekalavya scheme. Research grant is provided to students who are going research projects.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

MCET, a campus to be educated and to enjoy.

I didn't apply to any other college because our college is well known in our district and is one of the best private colleges in the state. And it was close to my home too so I never had to apply for another college. I didn't got rejected because I never applied. The student must qualify Keam which is the entrance exam for engineering and medical specific to the state of Kerala. Should have good and considerable marks on the exams of +2 also. Students can apply to the college after the ranking of Keam is published for merit seats. Can appear directly to the college for management and NRI seats too.
