G. L. Bajaj -Telling the pros and cons of the college

I have already thought to pursue B. Tech. in my 10 grade.The curriculum doesn't prepares us so well for the real-world applications. It should get updated now. The college should focus on other things and not only on the subjects taught in B. Tech. . Exams are almost held every month in the 5 month semester

In my ECE department, students start getting enrolled in internship opportunities from third year. One of my senior has done an internship in BSNL company. The stipend was around 10,000 or sometimes they are not even paid except the experiences. You have a mini project which will help you get shortlisted for the internship.

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Palo Alto, HCL, Mediatek, and Intel are the companies which visit our college. And they have sufficient number of offers in the college for students.The highest and average package for this year is not yet revealed so I cannot tell this. Almost 70-80% of students get placed through college placements. I have plans to get a good job through college placement and then continue the same job

I am in ECE department and in 2nd year the fees is 1,50,800. This is the total fee you have to pay. It includes registration fees, admission, development fees, lab fees and other compulsory charges. The tuition fees for students of all categories is the same. The college doesn't differentiate any caste category over tuition fees. The scholarship has various scenarios in the college. The students whose family's annual income is less than 2,00,000 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Inside that also there are various criteria of selection for the scholarship. The general category students mostly do not get shortlisted. The OBC and SC/ST students are more likely to receive the scholarship. One of my friends who is from the OBC category received a scholarship amount of 57,000 in 1st year. This year again he has applied for the scholarship. It will get credited in March maybe. My family's annual income is more than 2,00,000 which is why I was not able to apply for the scholarship

As such there are no annual or technical festivals are held in the college. Once in the year only Freshers party is oragnized for the whole college in which various artists come to perform. This year Shreya Ghosal, Neeti Mohan, Shakti Mohan, Mukti Mohan came to perform. But there are various events held in the SHD hall of the college in which various speakers, leaders come to motivate students. This year Kumar Vishwas came to the college.Sudhanshu Trivedi has also come to the college. Gaur Gopal Das has also been there in the college to motivate the students. The library has accessibility to the all the books necessary for students. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and good infrastructure. Sports Club is there to train students for AKTU zonals. The group of students runs GFG-GLBITM and creates a good impact on the students who are interested in coding.

I got confirmed admission in KIIT Bhubaneswar but the fees there was too high for me to afford. It was around 26,00,000 including hostels.I preferred G L Bajaj over KIIT because the fees here is reasonable.I didn't get rejected from any college. I almost applied for no other colleges. The admission process here is two ways.One is from counselling and other is direct admission.In counseling your JEE percentile is important. 89 percentile will easily get you CSE core branch in G L Bajaj. JEE exam is preferred by college for admission. The overall admission process was good here

The faculty to-student ratios is good. It is 1:5 maybe. The faculty to student relationship is good. Every faculty supports students in every way. The faculty I liked the most in my 1st year is Vipul Kumar Sharma who taught us Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering. In 2nd year Mohan Singh for Digital System Design. They both taught so well. The faculty I didn't like is Bhawna Tiwari because she doesn't taught us in a way in the 1st year. There are three exams in the college before the University Exam. The exams are ST 1 , ST2, PUT. Only few students fail to clear the exam. The course curriculum right now is irrelevant as per my thinking

I do not live in college hostel because it is not good according to its price.I live at a distance of500 metres from college campus. There are nearby only few cafeterias like Paintra and a good place to hangout like Jagat faram.I live in Raghuma boys hostel C block. The college campus has B. Tech. canteen, MBA canteen, PGDM canteen for students. The locality is not safe to roam around because it is not a good area especially for girls
