Dislikes
- One of the main problem is that this os a distant education institute and cannot compare its value with ordinary regular institutes
- Some of the centres are less cooperative.but most of them are ok
- Keeping track on the announcements and notices are the hard part because we have to visit the university website to lnow about the announcements all the time. If we don't the chances of missing out exams and assignment submission may be at risk.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason for me to choose this course is that i am a commerce student and persuing chartered accountant course. Since it is a professional course and the chance of going articleship after the intermediate exam i cannot go for regular collages that was the main reason i chose distant degree and IGNOU was the best in the country. The curriculum is vast and well organised. Well the partical sessions are not there because of the distant education. From my perspective those who wants a degree but don't have time for regular collages this is the one to go for.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for the BComG program is around ?13,500 for the entire three-year program. The yearly fee is around ?4,500 per year. The first year fee includes a one-time registration fee of around ?200. GNOU internal scholarships – IGNOU offers many scholarships to its students like IGNOU need-based scholarships, IGNOU merit scholarships, and IGNOU sports scholarships. Awardees under these scholarships are selected on the basis of need, merit, and achievements in sports. Scholarships from other organizations – There are various other scholarships available to IGNOU students offered by organizations like the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and the state governments. Scholarships offered by these organizations are open to all students regardless of the fact that they are studying at IGNOU or any other university. Government of India Scholarships – Students studying at IGNOU and part of reserved categories like scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes are offered scholarships by the Government of India. These scholarships are provided by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Overall the cost or fees for ug/pg or any other courses are cheap while comparing other distant education institutions with higher quality learning.
Campus Life
One of the biggest problems of distant learning is thar there is no campus or social life related to the institute or course. Evey student have to stay at their home and study. But still it worth the sacrifice as that we have other things or courses to do or job for those who are working professionals.
Admission
Well the reason i took this college is i can't do regular colleges . I had a 92.5 % in higher secondary school but due to the CA course I have to opt for the distant learning. If i had applied for other colleges i would have got the admission.
Faculty
The are a total of 24 exam which is divided into 3years/ 6 semesters. Each semester has 4 subject exams. The difficulty is moderate (from my view; as iam studying CA) compared to other regular collages. The failure percentage is comparatively low around less than 10% or something. The course curriculum is far better than compared to other distant education institutions. Since ignou is aa open university it is not fare to compare it with regular college curriculum but it is best in the distant education Universities. There are study centres in most of the districts or cities to help with the students and conducting classes not on daily basis but still its there.
Night Life
There is no night life or day life as there is no regular days at class or hostels or any other facilities evry study from their houses and go for the exam . It is one of the major drawback of distant learning.
