- Faculty members are helpful, very student-friendly and highly educated.
- Campus Life is great. Activity Clubs are very active.
- Classrooms in the main building gives off old Calcutta aesthetics.
Dislikes
- Female restrooms should be renovated. Some restrooms lacks wash basins and mirrors.
- Canteen food is not upto the mark in comparison to the price.
- There's practically not much things I disliked except one would surely get lost several times on your first week in the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
My decision to pursue English was not quite influenced by the curriculum but rather my own keen towards literature from childhood. As for our curriculum which the NEP has recently introduced, I personally feel burdening students with various other subjects apart from their actual course (for example, the CVAC, IDC papers) really diverts, confuses and adds unnecessary stress to student. It distract students from actually working on their major paper.
Internships Opportunities
As a fresher, there's much for us which is yet to explore. But as per we have experienced so far....our college has good connections with 'Amar Kuthir' in Santiniketan. They hold exhibition and even offers various courses such as Batik Printing etc.

Campus Life
Several departmental fests are organised throughout the winter months. There's a slight chance that Caledonia (College's Fest) might make a comeback. Activity Clubs are great and highly active. There's good amount of participation in other college's Fests.
Admission
I applied to DU but the college I was assigned through the CUET portal was not upto the mark. Scottish comparably was a better choice in that aspect. I also applied to St. Xavier's College Kolkata but the cut off went quite high. I was also enrolled in Gokhale Memorial Girls college for about a month. The admission process of Scottish is not conducted by the West Bengal portal. It is run by the college website. Cut off goes quite high for English. There's less chances for students with scores below 90%. 93%+ is a safe score.
Faculty
Considering all aspects, I personally love all the faculty members. And it's practically quite difficult to choose one whom I like and dislike the most. For a matter of fact, there's no faculty member whom I dislike honestly. For exams, I currently have no clear idea till I sit for my first sem exam. But professors are indeed very helpful regarding tutorials and stuffs.
Night Life
There's not many hangout places near the college but college street in within 1km radius of the college. There's library and common room which is open during college hours (10am - 5pm). Overall night life is somewhat okayish.
