Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I opted for is civil engineering. I later thought I have choosed wrong course. But when I came in close contact with teachers, I realised how lucky I am to get this field. Curriculum of civil engineering teaches you too live in the outside world. Practical knowledge is given on my course.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is a major key point in the course. College does not offer a particular company to work with. We need to find a good company ourselves. Stipend is dependable on the company whether to give or not.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee of all the categories is different. These categories are based on caste. The fee for open student without any reservation is 1 lakh 37 thousand. I am a OBC student, I pay 80 thousand in first year. Whereas this fees is reduced to 73 thousand per year from second year to fourth year. Also the fee for VJNT students is 24 thousand in the first year. The least fee is for SC students, they pay a nominal fee of 8 thousand rupees for first year and 2 thousand rupees for second to third year. Also they receive a scholarship of 60 thousand per year direct to their bank account. Whereas OBC students get 1350 rupees per semester and the other is transferred to college.

Campus Life

5

Their are a good number of events held in Sinhgad College. Every year Sinhgad feast is organised in the month of February which is a extra ordinary event. The best event in Pune. It is the biggest event in the year. Club activities are not up the mark. Technology is widely used in the college as well as college primeses. Sports events add value to the college. A good number of sports events are organised in the college.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel Life is very interesting. 24 hours you have freedom. You play, enjoy, fight in the hostel. No one inturpts you to enjoy with your friends. The draw back of the hostel is the fee of the hostel. The fee of the hostel is 78000 per year which is a bit high. I chose to live in private flat which reduces the cost of living in a year

Admission

Sinhgad College of engineering was not my first or second preference. In fact not my first 5 preference. I am a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar which is in Maharashtra. I wanted to study in a city like Pune. Pune had many good colleges. It is difficult to figure out a good engineering college. According to me government engineering college of pune is the best college in Maharashtra. I dreamt of going to this college but I had just 75% and the passing is 95%. I had heard about Sinhgad College. I wanted to join this college. But my parents did not like the college as they had heard a lot of bad things about the college. So I had to give preference to other colleges. DY Patil, JSPM, VIIT were among my preference. Sinhgad College of engineering was my 8th preference. But as I wished I got this college as my score was average I e. 75%. And other top colleges cutoff is above 80%. Sinhgad College is the best college according to me. I have studied for 3 years in this college , now I am in final year. Sinhgad College have 8 colleges across Maharashtra which is a huge milestone. I advice new freshers to opt for Sinhgad College of engineering if you have scored below 80%. If above 80%, then colleges like JSPM, Symbiosis, MIT, DY Patil address amongst the good colleges.

Faculty

4

The course we select is a major key of our future. I have opted for BE in civil which I am interested in. The faculty of my college have increased my interest in the subjects. My course consists of 4 months per semester. After a month a exam is taken of marks 30. This exam is named as "Insem". It is mandatory for students to pass the exam with qualifying marks of 12. If the student fails to obtain the qualifying marks, he/she has a chance to cover the marks in next exam which is called as "Endsem". This exam is conducted after 4 months. The exam is of 70 marks out of which 28 marks are mandatory.

Night Life

2

Seriously taking I dreamt of a interesting night life in my college era. But I regret to opt for Sinhgad if we talk about night life. Gym is not available in the college. But yes many private gyms are available in the college campus. Hostel timing for girls are from morning 6 to 10 at night. For boys no timing. Full freedom for boys 24 hours. It is not safe to roam in the campus at night as many youngsters are addicted to drugs and alcohol and can distract you at night

Course Curriculum Overview:

Relevance & Decision Factors I would rate the curriculum an 8.5/10 for its contemporary relevance. FFCS System: A major factor for many students is the Fully Flexible Credit System. It allows you to tailor your curriculum—for instance, a Mechanical Engineering student can take minor credits in "Prompt Engineering" or "Financial Analytics" to stay competitive in the tech-driven job market. Industry Focus: The curriculum is updated frequently. In 2026, there is a clear emphasis on Holistic Learning, where elective courses are structured to help you specialize in niche domains like Bioinformatics, Information Security, or Machine Learning. Application-Oriented: The "J-Component" (Project Component) integrated into most core subjects ensures that you don't just learn theory; you must build a prototype, code an application, or conduct a researc

Semester 7 is when the placement season starts, and sem 5 onwards you can appear for internship season. The highest package goes in crores but mostly in cse department, others not IT jobs have reletively lower packages avarage being 20 LPA. Almost 60 percent and above students get placed in my guess. I am planning to work in a chemical process design firm.
