Remarks

St.Joseph's College of Commerce is the perfect destination for any student hoping to pursue commerce combining quality education with the ideal college life to make this period in your life unforgettable.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course that i have chosen is BCOM Industry Integrated(II). The course curriculum includes the subjects Financial Accounting, Business Mathematics, Business Economics, General English and a language subject with the choices of Additional English and Kannada. The class timings for all courses are extend to a period of 4hrs, either morning or afternoon batch. The timings for morning batch is from 7-11 and for afternoon batch students is from 12-4. The course in and of itself provides us with the training to make it in the industrial sector.

Placement Experience

5

In terms of placements, SJCC is right up there with the top colleges in India. The BCOM II course is integrated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This course involves various orientations and seminars conducted by the college which has successful professionals interact with the students imparting their wisdom. companies also pick students from different batches and courses for either paid or non paid internships based on each individuals performance.

College Events

5

SJCC has no shortage of events and programs. Everything from blood drives and relief campaigns to cultural festivities and art competitions is ever-present. This is because SJCC gives a lot of importance to extracurricular activities. Students are always encouraged to perform and opportunities are in an abundance. Apart from cultural festivities, other fests like Envisage and Kalotsav are also big in the college with the headline show of the year always being the much-awaited Dhwani.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is between Rs60000-Rs70000 with first years having to pay an additional amount culminating to Rs80000. End Semester and Supplementary Examinations require additional fees with fine imposed upon failure to pay within the time allotted.

Fees and Financial Aid

I myself haven't enrolled for educational loans or any scholarship programs though the opportunity exists.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at SJCC is nothing short of amazing. The campus, in comparison with other colleges, is slightly smaller due to this being a commerce specific college. However, the campus is compact, simple and cozy due to it being surrounded by trees. The entry section next to the back gate is especially to my likening. The campus is complete with a football ground and the basketball court where all the events are conducted. Cultural diversity is one aspect where SJCC really shines. Students from all over India are present, with students from other nationalities and NRIs also present. SJCC also has an exchange student program which provides great exposure to both sets of students.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are much more friendly and helpful than I expected. The bond between the seniors and juniors are evident from the get-go as they always try to encourage instead of discouraging. The student council especially does everything they can to make sure the first-years are feeling comfortable and the council is living up to their huge responsibility. The Anti-Ragging Cell is especially effective to the point where ragging is virtually non-existent.

Admission

I received a text message and call from the reception of the college confirming admission and requesting an appearance with the necessary documents if interested. Classes started on June 1st however i was part of the final list therefore i officially joined the college on June 10th.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is very friendly and understanding, in the sense that they know how to treat their students, from the Principals and Councillors to the Teachers to other faculty members like the canteen staff, all seem well composed and comfortable around students. The teachers know how to handle the students and impart their knowledge onto the youth in a very balanced manner.
