Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course i have opted id Bcom with Travel and Tourism. The difficulty level of the exams medium. The course prepares you for hospitality service and travel management. I will suggest you to take Regular Bcom instead of travel management. If anyone interested in hospitality they can opt for this course

Placement Experience

4

Students eligable for placement are the ones who have hot 8 or more in their CGPA. Around 15% of the students gets placed. The average package is 20,00,000 p.a. All big 4 companies come here for recruitment. My plan is to get into tourism field.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total amount of fee of Travel and Tourism along with Bcom is 95,000. And the college provides a 2 scholarship (Management and Old Student Association) opportunities to all the eligable students. Where they give on an average of 20,000. My other batchmates who have opted for ACCA and CMA has payed more than 1,15,000.

Campus Life

5

SJCC gives opportunity to each and every student to be part of the college. There are more than 45 clubs in the college. The library is equipped with all necessary things. There are a 2 cultural fests that happen in college and 2 sport competition held out there.

Admission

I wanted to join this college and this has been my first priority, cause this is the best commerce college on Bangalore. I had also applied in SJU where i couldn't get in as I had failed in my interview. Here at SJCC there will be aptitude test and later a one on one oral test and finally ends with a personal interview.

Faculty

5

Most of the Faculty members are friendly with the students. As our college is Autonomousz they have their own set of papers being prepared, there are total of 2 exams in semester namely mid and final sems. The mid sems is for 20 marks and final sems is for 80 marks.

Interview Experience

5

So as of in the beginning will have a entrance exam and whoever passes in it they will be going for the next round which is an oral test and finally ends with a personal interview. They had provided few instructions before writing out exams, they had provided the basic subject requirement for writing the exam.

Night Life

5

SJCC is located in bangalore most prime location where there are a lot of restaurants, café, resto bars and many more. There are many stores for shopping surrounding the college. There are a lot of hangout spots for SJCC students mainly the famous Chettas where you get the best Oreo milkshake. Yes it is safe as there are cops in and around the college.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
