A study on Loyola, Chennai

In our college, we follow the Madras University course curriculum. It is based on the accessibility and understanding of every students who are under the Madras University guidance. I think its good. But its too easy for advanced students.

I am currently doing my internship at National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) Chennai. As for internship we should find it ourselves and the collegr will not provide any assistance regarding it. The only thing is the intern should be related to our course.

The Campus placement drive is more abundamt for the B.Com department in our college than to any department. As a science department, we get the placedment from the fields such as teaching, IT, customer service and banking. But for the media departments, there is a lack of opportunity when it comes to campus placement. The min to max package of the campus are 20,000 to 70,000 per month.

I get like around 20000 rupees per semester and i have paid around 65000 to 70000 rupess till my 6th semester. There maybe up and downs of amount between odd and even semester. Michellenous fee, Lab fee, exam fee are seperate fee structure

My overall experience is better than i expected. But i didnt like the forced club activity we were put through as freshers. I would like the club activity to be voluntary rather than being compulsory. The environment is friendly and the infrastructure is good too. We also have events like department fest, college culturals, christmas celebration, pongal celebration and so on.

To be honest, I applied for only three colleges, Loyola College, Madrass Christian College and Madras Institute of Technology. And I got my admission in all those three. Since MIT(Automobile Engineering) released their result late, I was studying for my semester exam in Loyola(Physics). I didnt want to discontinue the course so I went with it. And i also got selected in MCC(Physics) too. But i chose Loyola over MCC, since Loyola is a boys college.

The faculty members in my department are the best. Easy to approach. Knowledgeable. Kind and so on. And i have very pleasent experience with the faculties from other department too. They are good at their job and friendliness with the students at the same time.

Actually I am a long distance day scholar and i dont stay around my college at night times. So i dont know may things about it. But as i have heared it from my friends i think its pretty cool around our college with the hangout spots like Maazi, Loyo Cafe and so on.
