Remarks

For those who want to shine in their career and stand out, Loyola is the place. But if you aren't ready to work hard for it, Loyola is not the place. You will be bombarded with work which is for your own benefit.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum changes according to the industry needs. So when we step out we would have gained some knowledge and insight on the work part. Lot of workshops and seminars are conducted. We are also taken outside to gain experience. Its not just studying from books and writing exams. Its about learning and getting better.

Placement Experience

5

It is very well known that Loyola is a name known by many. Since the college is very strict and pushes us to do more and more, we can ourselves step out and get employed. A recommendation or additional course is not necessary. Although campus interviews don't happen, the respect we get later for our work is a huge huge gain.

College Events

4.5

Every department will get the opportunity to host at least three events per semester. So all the students will get a chance to attend other events and also host their own. My department has done seminars, events like Media Conclave 2019, film festival, etc. People working in the field are called and interactive sessions are organised; this lets the students get directly in touch with the professionals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee has been increased. But it is still worth it. The first semester I paid 64000 rs. The next semester I paid 60000. It drops four to five thousands per semester. We can pay from any axis bank branch. We can also pay from the branch in the college premises. No fraud work can be done. It is transparent. A challan is generated and we have to pay it. As far as I have paid and studied, this is the situation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a cut down in the fee for those from the lower income range. If the income certificate is shown, the fee is reduced (reduced fee is decided by the college). Other than that, sports quota is also available for all courses.

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio is not equal. UG courses are only for male. Only PG is co-ed. But is not unsafe in anyway. Students are treated with equity. Their is no ragging. Sports is given importance. Debates, all kinds of sessions happen often. As I said, it is not just about studies. It is about getting out of the comfort zone and doing more which is pushed by the staff.

Hostel Facilities

4

No. I am not in the college hostel. From my friends who are staying in college hostel, I have heard the rooms are moderate. Power cuts and voltage fluctuations are common. The timing is flexible if students need to go out for their works. I had a chance to eat in the hostel once. It was amazing. It has both veg and non veg. It is surprising to see a college hostel have such good food. Better than restaurant food.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni visit often. They have good things to say about the college. The major one would be how easy it is to work in the field after studying in Loyola.

Admission

I opted for this course because I wanted to learn more. And this is the best choice in Chennai. I am definitely learning more and more. I wrote an entrance exam and attended an interview of two stages. Although many are selected based on recommendation, I was selected by merit. The fees has increased but it is still worth it.

Faculty

4

Most of the teachers have a Ph.D. Else they have a lot of previous experience working in the field which is very helpful for the students. All teachers in every semester offer some form of an industry experience. They are all highly knowledgeable. They are ready to help us more if we ask them.
