Remarks

The experience of every student dreamt of or atleast for me. The campus life was good and all the other stuffs were also good but in my last days the during thesis submission the reaction of our project guide was unbearable, that's the one thing I wanted to forget.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Coarse curriculum was similar like all other colleges and universities in our country but the difference was that most of the time we have to explore new topics of the course solely by ourselves without any help from our teachers as they were quite busy in their own work. This thing improved my student instinct to believe in yourself. There were quite no of companies that visited our campus for placement so the institute have a 1 month classes for that purpose. Though we heard of industrial visits by our seniors but unfortunately we didn't get any.

Placement Experience

3.5

I haven't avail any placement drive as I was pursuing my internship in Delhi and was unable to attend any of companies interviews or initial processes.

College Events

4.5

There were quite a number of fests happening now and then that time. Milan, hackathon, comfest etc were few to name. Every department has their own fests but Milan was the grand fest. All the college students have their hearts pumped up for this. The celebrities were invited and the great light and pomp and show was highlight.

Fee Structure And Facilities

During my time fee structure was quite feasible. It was 7. 5K per year and mode of payment was fully online and secured. No there was no hidden charges. Yes it provides total transparency in fee breakdown. But there was examination fee that we have to pay beside our already paid fees every semester but that's the norm for all the colleges and universities across the country.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not opted for any scholarship. Yes University provide many different scholarships. Scholarships for low income students, prodigy students etc. There were different aspects of criterion for different scholarships which I am unaware of. But on an average the lowest of scholarship provide 25% waiver of the annual fees.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life was like any other campuses. Cold drinks were available in the hot summers and to compliment it fast food was there. Most of the time hosteliers miss their mess lunch and grab bite outside. Gender ratio according to me is is equal as I saw equal male and female individuals around the campus. No dorm parties are allowed in the hostel but you can celebrate outside hostel. There is a great diversity of people of different race, religion and ethnicity but all live equally and harmoniously. University campus has mosque, church, temple for the respective communities.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes in my first year I opted for hostel. The hostel rooms were good but not like home but with great roommates I embrace it like my own. I have two other roommates with me belonging to different states than mine but that's the experience I wanted my whole life. The mess food was good and electricity was available 24×7 with wifi. We have common bathrooms for about 12-14 rooms on the floor. The filtered drinking water was available. In my second year I rented a PG near my college with my friend. Though prices were varying for rentals but I got a good deal. It was 5K per month but by sharing rent it only 2. 5K per head. We coocked food ourselves and it costs around 5K per month for both of ous including the rent.

Alumni/Alumna

We have quite befriended our seniors they helped us in understanding difficulties occurring during the course and also share their experiences with us. They also told about strength and weak points of each and every faculty members which help us to build a good communication with them.

Admission

I was keen to do post graduation after I was graduated in the same field. I also wanted to study away from my home and want to explore the life of a hostilier so I chooses Chennai for my further studies and besides that I already had 2 colleges in my mind. My gut feeling was more keen for SRM. First of all I went through all the information I have gathered on the university and the course then told my parents about my plan then we went through admission process. I filled the admission form online for the course then they asked me for an face to face interview and then after interview finally I got the admission.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was highly qualified with doctorate in their respective subjects. Tentatively speaking there were pile of lectures and some were boring too but for the sake of the degree we have to go through them. Most of the time faculty were great in waving off our doubts and giving clarification on the subject but as the saying goes "not everyone knows everything" sometimes they were not. Yes lectures gives information about industry but no experience.

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.
