Honest review on VGEC

Curriculum is old but still relevant to real life applications. Lab sessions are important for understanding concepts and applications of theory. In my course curriculum is enough for real life applications because I am from a circuital branch which requires good understanding of theory. Seminars and industrial visits can improve learning experience from a student's perspective. Exams are taken after every 1.5 month but if one has attended lectures then it becomes easy to score.

Many companies come for internships. Godrej, shaligram infotech, bacany technologies etc come for internships. Roles offer are trainee engineer, python developer intern etc. Real life projects helps one to build concepts and gives experience about corporate life.

Students are eligible for placements after 6th semester. Overall more than 65 companies visit college every year and made 400+ offers. Highest package in my branch was 7lpa and overall highest was 22lpa in 2024. Average package is around 4.5-5lpa. companies like reliance, adani group, TCS , Micron etc visits every year. 70% of students gets placed. I will also go for placement during my last year.

Fees is around 3k per year. This is same for all engineering courses. Other fees can cost around 2k per year including exams form fees , Registration fees etc. Total fees for whole course can be around 18-20k. Various scholarships like mysy , digital Gujarat scholarship are available.

No annual or technical fest has happened after my admission. Sports fest takes place every year. There are many competitions and events happening every month. Library has more than 1000 books including books for competitive exams.Classrooms are big and clean. College has some teams which compete at university level every year. Drama club, ssip club , singing club etc are there which helps students to show their talent and enjoy their college life.

VGEC was my target college as it is in my city and near my home. College has good placement records and alumni network. Admission criteria requires one to score atleast 45% in PCM and a valid GUJCET score card. A merit is declared through this scores through which one gets admission.

Faculty to student ratio for a particular batch can be 1:20. Faculties are very supportive and understanding. If one is being honest then they will surely help. GCP from mathematics department is very supportive. All faculties are good. Exams are taken after every 1.5 month. It is kind of difficult. Solving pyqs can be helpful for clearing exam. 15-20% students fail but then pass exams in remedial. Exam is designed according to relevance of course.

No there were no rounds. Admission is based on ACPC merit. Merit is declared on the basis of marks in PCM and entrance exam GUJCET. After registration in ACPC and providing documents merit is declared are admission rounds takes place.

There are many food outlets and cafes near my college. Students often go their after classes. There is no gym inside college. Library is closed after 5pm. Hostel and campus closing time is around 10pm. Agora mall and decathlon are some famous spots near to the college. Night safety is very great.
