Remarks

The college provides training for the interview process by a 3rd party HR organisation, who help you in training for the interview. This benefitted me most. For non IT students the placement department conducts a session on basic aptitude so that we can clear the first rounds. Every department hold Crack the Campus which helps students revise the subjects well before the interview.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course content is updated every time and is at par with all the good colleges in India. The books suggested are not the regular VTU books, but the questions asked in many exams are from the VTU books.

Placement Experience

4

All the eligible students get either internships or internship + full time or full time offers from companies. Most of the companies that come are IT companies with good packages. If you get in a non MRC or product company you get a lot to learn and can switch easily. The placement record for non-IT branches are not that great but they too get in IT and perform really well. College promotes internships and every summer vacation there will be a list of companies where you can do internships. Internships are also done in the college by the faculties during the summer breaks.

College Events

4

There were two main events during my time Technidarshan and Anandaotsava, but now it’s just one. In Technidarshan the competition are basically technical and it was a time where you can make your pocket money by winning some competition, I realised in my 3rd year and won 5k+ every time. In Anandaotsava you have the Dress up competition, Dance and other competitions, I never went here as I slept these 3 days :)

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for CET was fine and the same for Managament seats it was 4 times than the CET seat. No idea about the present structure. But there was concession given if your PCM score was 85% or above.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college displays the list of Stipends/Scholarships available by Government and various NGOs along with the procedure to opt for it. The college offers a scholarship of 25% in feee if you have scored 25% or more in PU and maintain a CGPA of 8+ with no arrears and makeups

Campus Life

3.5

The college has almost all the sports and anyone can avail those facilities, it was good for the hostellers. Every semester has 2 lab courses beginning from the first semester, some labs were good and improved eventually, but some had old machines, now the system is changing and new components and machines are brought in with the help of big companies.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of my branch were very helpful in letting us know there interview experience and what should be done and guided very well. They also used to send funds for our hobby projects. ELIXIR in EEE is totally funded by the Alumni and the students were free to choose any projects of their choice.

Admission

I got in through Management Quota as I was not eligible for CET Karnartaka. But now the college has become Deemed University, so they take entrance exams themselves.I had applied directly in the Nitte University Derelakatte.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are highly trained and professional. They know the stuff and always guide you. I was in Electrical and all the faculties were very helpful be it the lab or the theory classes. They make the best use of infrastructure available to teach and also send across the study materials for reference.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
