What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the quality of the crowd in the campus along with kind and helpful teachers who are chill most of the time unlike typical engineering college teachers.
- You can make new friends and also find a peer group which often matches with your interests and vibes.k
- The placements are decent enough considered a reputed private engineering college and the curriculum is quite lenient when compared to other colleges like PES,RVCE and etc.,
Dislikes
- The campus size is quite small but you can have great time with your team around the campus.
- BMSCE hasn't become University yet , even being autonomous institute it's curriculum might contain some vtu hectic activities.
- The Freshers building could be improved as it hasn't all the utililities as that of the PJ block.
Course Curriculum Overview
Basically , a major part of the portion is decided by the college itself and so far I've learned that there you get to opt for a lot of electives based on your interest unlike some of my friends from other colleges who informed that they're forced to pick a topic with comparatively less number of electives.Basically , every sem has cie1,cie2,cie3 and see Out of the three cies the best of two is considered and added to the see score to calculate the final sgpa.So u could one more chance unlike other colleges.
Internships Opportunities
So far I am just a fresher but there are many institutes who are tied up with our college who provide intership and also with a stipend sometimes. You are also given group project along with a mentor who are industrial experts from MNCs.
Placement Experience
The placement data of 2024 was as follows: AVG PACKAGE: 12LPA MEDIAN: 8 LPA HIGHEST: AROUND 45 LPA PLACEMENT RATE: AROUND 66% Yep , the ration can be increased but a well amount of students opt for higher studies and some for startups.
Fees and Financial Aid
You get to avail both government and private scholarships hosted by the alumni of the college such as SSP,NSP and etc, also the fee structure is as follows: KCET WITH SC/ST: 750.00 INR KCET SNQ: AROUND 32000.00 INR + some university and scholarship fee of 30000 KCET OPEN TYPE: AROUND 1.1 LAKH COMEDK: 2.01 lakh + 13000 FOR MANAGEMENT QUOTA FEE YOU CAN REFER TO: https://bmsce.ac.in/home/Under-Graduation
Campus Life
The campus has many number of clubs who are always eager to welcome newbies who match with their vibes.you tend to connect with seniors and juniors as well who seem to be friendly and A BIG RELIEF there isn't any cases of ragging observed so far.Everyday u get notification from the group about new events and clubs.you also get certificates while participating in events so that u could claim attendance.Phase shift is the most widely celebrated fest of this college along with UTSAV.
Hostel Facilities
the hostel rooms are spacious with well equipped furniture but the fee isn't worth it also the hosteli incharge doesn't seem to be a nice person. The hostel authorities just always fetch money from students for no valid reasons.the food provided in the mess nice
Admission
During counselling I applied for many colleges but BMSCE was on top of my choice entry as it has a balanced life between studies and extracurricular activities unlike other colleges. The college life isn't hectic at all also when you pass with decent score you're handed with a decent salary package.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is quite decent and most of the time you'll teachers who are chill and can be easily approached in case of any doubts. The concepts taught by the teacher is just more than enough to pass the cie and see of the college. The exams are quite easy for the freshers but from 2nd years it's a little more difficult but can be managed easily. You would seldom find any faculties who aren't appropriate . The course also does teach you right curriculum.
Night Life
The nightlife is amazing if you're a hostelite and the campus has a lot of canteens such as a cafe at the library 1st floor, vidhyarthi khana and many other refreshments which're open till 7 to 8 in the evening.
