- The best thing about my college is it has seperate building for each engineering branch which is very useful.
Dislikes
- The rooms and buildings are too old and needed to repair as soon as possible
- The lab is decent and materials are not available in labs.
- The faculties are not good. Most of the time faculties does not teach us properly
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that i took is instrumentation and control and it is very good for future from my perspective. This course will boost up definitely in four years from now. I'm interested in this course since i was a child. The chips and are used in mobile phones and sensors, they all are made up by a great contribution of instrumentation and control engineer. This profession also pays a lot if you are hardworking enough. The exams are quite difficult.
Fees and Financial Aid
My college is GEC, gandhinagar. As it is government college so the fees structure is very low. The fees structure is 1500? per year and as compared to other private colleges it is very low. So basically fees per semester is 750?. We do have exam fees and enrollment registration fees and tution fees/lab fees etc etc. The fees structure is same for all the categories like st/sc. I belong to EWS category. Also there is no discrimination in the fees structure between girls and boys. There are many scholarship available at our college. The very famous scholarship is mysy and anyone with decent grades can apply to that scholarship. But as the college is government i didn't apply to any of these scholarships because my fees is already tooo low so it's not that much helpful to me, but it can be very helpful to private college students. It is a decent college with decent faculties. A friend of mine will pay 0 fees as he scored way too good in his 12th class so got a scholarship or you can say he was selected for TFWS. So in the result he will not have to any amount of fees for the studies that he will continue for four years. It will be free for him. I aso have a friend who is in private college and he also got the TFWS kota and he is paying 0 fees. So 12th marks are very important for your admissions in college and if one wants to study free whole engineering for four years so he should study very hard in his 12th and he will be able to get the TFWS kota and will study for free....
Campus Life
There are very less functions in our college. This is the major disadvantage of my college. Very few occasions were held, recently garba was held and also the freshers party for new comers. It was really good and enjoyable. It was very fun. There are plenty of books available in the library and we can get a lot of knowledge from all the books that are present in the library. I personally use library a lot to study. The facility are decent. The labs are also decent. They are not too good or too bad. Some classroom have AC some have not. Some classrooms are very good and some are not. Capmus is soo good and big. I really love my campus and infrastructure. The student socializing is quite good. Overall it is a quite decent college
Admission
I preferred this college because of two main reasons. First reason is that it is a government college so the fees structure is negligible compared to private colleges. The second main big reason is placement. Government colleges get placement easily. To get admission in government college is very very tough as there is a lot of competition. So we have to study very hard to get admission in government college. The admission process is simple. If our rank is high enough to beat the merit or to cross the merit then we can apply and book our seat in government college very easily. Its not a big deal. You just have to score good in your 12th boards. I go applied to many private colleges but my main try was government college only due to many current financial situations and we know that in the end we have to study by ourselves so why not save some money. The most important thing that government colleges are under GTU which is a very good point to get jobs. So that's why i preffered this college
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is decent. As i am in a government college so the students are limited. There are not so many students as government only allows limited amount of seats. But in exchange the faculties are also not much. They are in adequate amount, not so many neither so less. There are many faculties i dont like as they are too egoistic and they don't complete the syllabus on time. There is only 1 exam named as midsem exam. The exam is not soo hard. The difficulty level is medium and students can pass easily.
Interview Experience
Yes i face many group discussion, tests and viva. It was my first time socializing and i was very nervous with new people. But soon i get socialized and everyone is now my friend and everyone is very good. The faculties that were taking the viva were also very libral and good. The criteria for admission simple. You have to come in the merit list and then you will get the admission if the seat is available. No offline admissions are available in government colleges. So we have to try our best in our 12th boards.
Night Life
There is no gym available in my college. The sports section is also very bad. As my college is government students rarely comes to college and because of that sports is almost zero. The canteen is wiite good but there very less things available in our canteen. My college life is very bad compared to that of private colleges. Private colleges students do enjoy their life really well. But my college life is almost zero and this is the biggest disadvantage of my college. But i guess soo it will be okay and at this price of fees we can't expect much.
