Course Curriculum Overview

Courses are very well designed and are oreinted to current industry demands .Each subject is designed very well and with each assignment you learn something new. Assignments make you think and hence improving our overall knowledge and skills.

Class Size: 4000Course Fees: INR 32000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Various companies provided internship such as. data analyst at microsoft at 3.5 lakhs stipend, TCS , Flipkart , Amazon,IBM , Deloite,Infosys etc offers intenships with decent stipend of 3-4 lpa with roles of data scientist interns, data analyst ,data engineer , machine learning intern etc.

Placement Experience

If you have completed any one of the diplomas of, you become eligible for internships rounds, when you reach BSc level you can sit for campus placements . Abour 450 companies visited for placements and around 1600 offers were made

Fees and Financial Aid

This course is designed in 5 levels each having different fee structure. 1st level that is foundation level has fees of total 32000 rupees, 2 diplomas cost around rupees 125000, BSc around 150000 and with BS degree overall, total fees becomes around 350000. Reservations have fess benifits, 50% for OBC NCL and SC/ST and 75% if annual income is less than 1lpa. So total fees for this entire program is 3.5 lakh and you have to pay it as per your level.

Campus Life

I can visit campus with ID card. There are many groups and clubs conducting various numbers of events on regular basis. Main fest is PARADOX which is filled with n numbers of events and functions. It is great experience and gives us great exposure.

Admission

I applied to all NITs , VJTI, COEP etc but could not get into those due to cutoff of jee mains. I applied for this course in IIT Madras and as it had creteria that if you appeared for JEE Advanced you are elligible and hence I got admitted here . I got rejected in other IITs due to lesser score than cutoff scores and different creteria. This program has one more route for admission that is qualifier exam, if you pass that then you get letter of admission.

Faculty

Girls boys ratio is very decent here, program structure is in 5 stages that are, foundation, Diploma in programming, diploma in data science, BSc and BS level. Faculties cannot be compared as each one of them are best in their own and they are very highly quaified. Live lectures are lesser. Courses gets difficult as time level increases.

Night Life

College has hostels and is open 24/7 with some areas restricted. Cafeterias and gym are open till 10pm at night . Hostel office are open till 6:30 pm . CCD, BRU stalls etc are some places to hangout at campus.

A major advantage is the flexibility. Since course registration happens term-wise, it becomes easier to adjust studies around an internship, a job, or even another degree without losing track.
The faculty and course teams are strong in their subjects. Classes feel planned and structured, and most courses move in a smooth way from basics to real use-cases.
In terms of career value, it works best for students who stay regular. The IIT Madras tag, along with projects and skills built step by step, helps in resumes, interviews, and portfolio building.

Dislikes

The workload can also become intense when many courses are picked in the same term. Assignments and deadlines stack up quickly, and poor planning can make it stressful.
Support is decent, but it can be slow at times. Some queries need repeated follow-ups because the system is process-driven and not always instantly personalised.
Campus life does not feel like a typical on-campus degree. Most interactions happen online, so building close friendships and that “college vibe” takes extra effort.

Placement Experience:

IIT Madras BS has placement support through its online placement portal and the Industry Interaction Cell (IIC), but it should not be treated as a guaranteed “campus placement for everyone.” Eligibility usually comes after reaching a certain stage (generally after at least one Diploma level), not from the Foundation stage. IIT Madras BS (Data Science): Flexible, Rigorous, and Worth It if You Stay Consistent

Likes

The biggest plus is flexibility. Term-wise course registration makes it easier to plan studies around internships, jobs, or another degree without falling behind.
Faculty and course teams know their subject well. The teaching feels organised, and the content usually follows a clear flow from basics to application.
For career growth, it can work well for consistent learners. The IIT tag, projects, and skills built over time support resumes, interviews, and portfolio building.

Dislikes

The campus life is not like a regular college. Social bonding happens mostly online, so the typical college vibe needs extra effort to build.
Workload can get heavy if too many courses are taken together. Deadlines can pile up fast, so time management becomes a real challenge.
Support systems can feel slow sometimes. Some issues take a few follow-ups because the process is structured and not always instantly personalised.

Placement Experience:

IITM BS DEGREE - a game changer in distant education

Likes

I liked about the study team, the professors the instructors. They are all very knowledgeable.
I also liked about the structure of the syllabus. The all courses are of 12 weeks.
Also, all the students are connected by the G chat. We are having the houses different houses from the different regions.

Dislikes

None I do not dislike anything about the BS DEGREE

Placement Experience:

After the sixth test students become eligible for the campus placements, there are many companies. Many high-level companies who visit the campus like the Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and TCS Infosys and many more the number of marriage, I can tell you the ratio, one students get approximately 8-9 offers. The highest package was approximately 1.0 2CR.

IITM BS: Gives Everything You Need as A College Student.

Likes

Intractive live session are available, live doubt solving sessions are available both hindi and english language.
Fees wavier is one of the most loving thing, after fee wavier per course charger is just 1k per course. (per course means in first year there are eight courses so each course is of 1k.)
There are a lot of offline and online fests, events and compitions that provide a lot of oppourtunity to students. Every city in india and also abroad have offline meetups there is endless possibilites for networking.

Dislikes

although I didn't disliked anything about the degree but there are few of common factors mentioned below:
for offline fest we go on campus and they charger for hostel, this is the thing that is addressable.
there are clubs and socities in the degree and they are active too but faculties do not involve too much in them but after it the clubs are doing very well.

Placement Experience:

There is seperate IITM BS Placement cell that provide internship and placment opportunities to almost every students who are eligible. Companies like wipro, amazon or many more companies visits for placements. highest package isn't disclosed of BS degree but the average package is something 10LPA. almost 70 to 80 % students are getting placed.

Dislikes

I think the lecutres are boring a bit and there programming dashboard don't support auto completion.
every month you have to give offline exam which is sometime feels so frequent.
I think The campus access should be increased, cause now it is only once in a year.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd year completion students become eligible for placements which is provided through college placement cell and if someone believe that off campus is going to overcome the placement offered through campus then he/she can go with that with ease. Percentage of student getting placement is extraordinary about 100 % but the students who sustained throughout the course are very limite. I have planed to join corporate after getting a degree.

I like the Paradox Events that Organization for around a Week Celebrating Events And there is a lots of Fun And Sports and Events in this event I believe you really enjoyed it.

Dislikes

The Mode of Classes is totally Online and the Classes is Given to you every Friday and also you have to Submitted a graded assignment per week as per the given deadlines.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As per the eligibility requirement to write the final exam, for courses in the qualifiers / foundational / diploma level, most have the condition that average of the best 1 weekly assignment scores out of the the first 4 weeks of assignments >= 40/100.

Course is hybrid so you can choose other college with other cours simultaneously
You get to learn from too professors and perks of iitian
Course is so flexible that you can exit after completing 1 year or two with certificate in foundation and diploma.

Dislikes

No students life as it is a hybrid degree.
Gets little less opportunity and exposure as we attend our lectures from our home itself.
Course content gets tougher day by day . It is very difficult to handle two degree simultaneously.

Placement Experience:

BS in data science students have completed their 1st batch and got highest placement of 23 lacs and average of 8 lacs . So placement of electronic system will also revolve around this figure. After 3rd year students are eligible for placements. Most of the Bengaluru based tech company visited for this degree holders. I have a plan to go for higher studies abroad after completing this degree.

I liked the course content, the user experience on website
I liked the engagement of the faculty, even being in online mode, teachers are doing their best to provide best of the best
I liked the low fees and the freedom to opt any other online or offline course along with the current course

Dislikes

It would we great if they provided us with option to visit campus during festivals and exams

Placement Experience:

Placements are good, as the degree is completely online, but it is nowhere mentioned in the certificate, IIT helps one to get good package in Data Science fields, maybe the college does not provide placemnts, but students have gotten in big companies through off-campus placements

I didn't apply to any other colleges because I didn't find any better college which would give me such flexibility in terms of fee and course pace. I didn't applied so I didn't get rejected from anywhere. To get admission in my current college , I had to qualify a qualifier (entrance for this degree) exam which made me eligible for this exam. Only 12th class certificate was required which obviously I have with more than 60 % in maths. Cuttoffs are very easy to obtain. The cuttoff is according to category, for my catogery which is obc I had to obtain at least 40% marks but I get 82% marks and hence passed the qualifier and got the admission letter.
