Course Curriculum Overview

4

In the first year mostly all the branches have basic courses which are used as introductory courses and are quite helpful. 2nd sem or 2nd year onwards curriculum becomes more course specific which is generally better because of the base building in the starting semester. I chose cse because of my personal interest and also because of the competitive coding environment which influenced me to have a challenge in my course pursuing years. The frequency and timings of exams is okayish because there are no other exams except mid-sems and end-sems. There are small class tests though which usually depends on the professor.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships season starts after 4th semester i.e, 3rd year and many tier 1 MNCs visit DTU and many students also gets internships whith Great offers but it is very competitive and hard to get a good internship because of the quantity of quality students is very big. Companies like microsoft accenture and many more visits the campus with stipends more than 1.5lakhs per month and much more. You have to do some projects prior to the internship for a good boost. Many students also get direct PPOs from the companies. If you have very great cgpa you might also have a upperhand in getting a good internship.

Placement Experience

5

Placement usually starts in the 7th semester and mostly students in cse branch gets placed. The placements are exceptionally good in DTU and they are phenomenal in branches like CSE, IT, SE etc. Many companies like microsoft, amazon, adobe, flipkart and many more visits DTU for placements and more than 200+ companies visit DTU for placements. Avg package right now is approx 15lpa and for CSE branch it is 23lpa and the highest package was 83lpa. Percentage of Student placed varies from branch to branch. For eg in cse it is above 90 percent. My plans after getting the degree is to get place in on campus placement or maybe pursuing masters abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearwise fees in DTU for BTech is different for every year and it increases by 10-20k per year in the span of ur 4 years, For eg: my first year fees is 2.3lakhs and it will increase every year i.e 2.4lakhs, 2.6lakhs, 2.8lakhs for 2nd,3rd,4th year respectively. There is no relaxation of fees for any category/subcaste but there are scholarships available in DTU, income based and merit based both and you can also apply for govt scholarships. Tuition fees is around 1.5lakhs in the total 2.3lakhs and rest is non refundable charges and it also increases yearly as mentioned above. DTU provides one income based scholarship which you have to fill and has to go through whole process and it also includes one interview round. It is open for all categories as it is a income based scholarship. There are multiple merit based scholarships which you can apply for.

Campus Life

4

After IIT Delhi annual fest, DTU's ENGIFEST is the biggest annual fest in delhi which is usually held in feb or they year starting. There are many more fests which happens throughout the year for eg YUVAAN, ARENA ETC. The range and accessibility of books is quite good because of a the veryy large library available in the centre of the campus which offers mostly books a engineering student requires. Sports complex is the biggest pros of DTU it has fully sized cricket pitch, volleyball courts, basketball courts , lawn tennis cour, gymnasium , netted cricket pitches, indoor auditorium for table tennis and badminton and many more sports facilities. There are many clubs and societies in the DTU approx 100+ which u can join through selection process in the starting of every academic year.

Admission

The admission process in DTU is through JEE MAINS exam. You have to get good rank in jee mains and have to apply for jac counselling to get admission in DTU. Usually for cse branch in DTU you have to get 99percentile to clear the cutoff. The whole admission process is not so hectic if you follow all the instructions and guidelines carefully. I applied for NSUT other than DTU, which also comes under jac counselling but I didn't choose NSUT because of other reviews saying that it is a little more strict than DTU and it was also very far from my home. And no, I did not get rejection from NSUT, I was getting cse there also but I still chose DTU because of the reasons I mentioned above.

Faculty

4

Faculty is quite good and qualified. In the first semester classes are usually taken by asst. Professors and they were mostly good and interactive and faculty-to-student is pretty impressive because in cse there are 7 sections and for all the 6 subjects not a single professor was taking more than one section for cse and this is also true for other branches. There are two main exams:- 1st are the mid-sems which usually happens in the middle of semesters and holds half weightage of marks and 2nd one are the end-sems which are usually carrying more weightage. There are also internals and practicals depending on subject-to-subject.

Night Life

4

In the night campus looks so beautiful and pretty, if you are hosteler you can do do tons of enjoyment in the campus with friends. In Sports complex you can go play any sport you want and do many more activities. I m not a hosteler so I can't give much insight on this but whatever info I have heard from my friends is that DTU's hostel life is great and very enjoyable.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. The average package is around 20 LPA and the highest package is 85 LPA. The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really good, i was always intered in the Engineering perspective of cars, and I must say it tries to deliver but doesnt sicces that well, atleast till now. For example I was really interested to study IC Engines this semester, it was a 4 credit main course, but I got RGautam as a teacher and in lab there are just artificial small models which are cross-section of various engines scaled down. So I felt really bad As I said earlier, the exams are relatively easy.
