I appeared for CAT in the year 2013 and got a percentile of 98.45 in it. I also gave other exams like XAT, IIFT, NMAT etc. Selecting a B-school was a very important and tough decision and it was based on various parameters. I selected DMS, IIT Delhi over other institutes because of its strategic location in the capital of India- New Delhi. The ROI is another very important factor which is a plus point for the institute. Placements are important for any b-school student and the stellar record of DMS, IIT Delhi was another very important advantage of it. Lastly the faculties of any institute are the pillars of it and here at DMS, IIT Delhi, we have very strong pillars in the form of prominent faculties.

The course curriculum is very dynamic and it adapts itself with the change in demand from the students and the industry fraternity. My junior batch have got their curriculum revised recently and it was a step to cope with the changing business environment. The curriculum basically focus on people skills and number skills which if both combined are the required ingredients for a perfect manager.

Summer internships of a duration of around 8-10 weeks like any b-school is also a common phenomenon at DMS, IIT Delhi also. Students can do their internship in various domains like finance, operations, marketing, consulting, IT consulting etc. The average stipend offered here is at par with the best b-schools in the country. In fact, we also get opportunities to do internships during the winter break of first year also which is quite unique to DMS, IIT Delhi only. I have interned at Wipro Technologies and it was a great learning experience for me.

50 companies for a batch 0f 60 students- that number itself describes the placement scene at DMS, IIT Delhi. The average salary is also quite high and is comparable with the best b-schools in the country. Different profiles across various domains are offered here which give students an opportunity to work in the sector in which he/she wants to.

The college hosts the annual business cum cultural festival called Parivartan in the month of February. It is one of the biggest management festivals of the country and we see participants across various B schools visiting us. We also have conclaves and guest lectures held regularly across the year. Our flagship event is the annual business summit called Building India Inc. which usually happens in the month of April.

The fees at IIT Delhi is about 4 lakhs for two years which is one of the least across all the b-schools across the country. This includes a laptop to every student and a partial funded global field study trip by the college. The hostel fees comes to around 16.500 every semester.

All the students in IIT are eligible for the SBI scholar loan scheme and the bank inside the campus provides that loan anyone who wishes to avail it. Moreover there are also cash awards for the top performers in the program. Moreover there are some national scholarships like YES Bank scholarship for which the students from the institute are eligible to apply.

The campus life is fantastic ! The gender ratio is improving with every incoming batch, For the junior batch the ratio of male to female is about 3:1. There are Strategy labs, Behavioural labs for the MBA students. Each hostel is equipped with world class gym and indoor games facility. Apart from that we have football and cricket grounds in the campus. There are badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, cricket practice pitches .Another very important part of the DMS life is the club culture prevalent here. There are various clubs here at DMS like the quiz club, finance club, marketing club, operations club, music club etc. which frequently organize sessions. This kind of activities connect all the students to a common thread and at the same time increase their knowledge also.

MBA is all about building networks. The alumni of a college are the reflection of the college in the industrial corridors. So, a strong alumni network is very important for every B-school. Here at DMS, IIT Delhi, we have a very strong alumni network which frequently interacts with the present students in the form of lectures, informal talks etc. The alumni committee at DMS, IIT Delhi which is student driven only is the link between the alumni and the present students of DMS, IIT Delhi. They tend to facilitate the whole engagement building relationship process. I am also a part of the alumni committee and have been a part of many such events.

The faculties here at DMS, IIT Delhi are world class and their teaching methodology is very interactive and simple. They give a lot of stress on the practical application of the theoretical concepts.
