Course Curriculum Overview

4

sol offer a well established cirriculum based ont eh academic rigor of delhi unviersity, the curriculum generally covers the fundamental concepts and theories within each subject area the flexibile learning allows students to adapt their studies to their needs and pace some suggestion and aread for improvement is In some cases the material might not be as up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies theremight be a greater emphasis on theoretical knowledge than on practical applicaion and skills development regular review and update of the curriculum are essential to ensure its continued relevance in a rapidl evolving world. overall i would rate the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is 8 out 10

Campus Life

4

as a students at the sol delhi univesity my experience with other compus life was limited. sol primarly focus on distance larning there isnot other campus setting with the usual social hubs, clubs, abd vibrant student life associated other colleges social aspects: limited face to face interaction sol has study centers accross and they have facilities of online platforms and forums can provide opportunites for online discussion and peer to peer learning traditional students club and societies are less prominent in the sol environment infrastructure : library facilites and online resources sol students can access the central university library and may have access to limited library faclities at study centters my overall experience with thsi campus is statisfy and i m fully statisfied and thanked to sol for giving me a flexbility and accessibility of the program

Admission

i chose the sol primarly because of its flexibility and accessibiltiy as a working professional i needed a learning enviroment that could accommodate my work schedule, sol format provvided me with a flexbility to study at my own pace which was a major factor in my decision thats why i choose this coolege oer other regular colleges compared to other colleges i considered sol offered a more affordable option with a recognised degree from prestigiious like delhi university, while other might haved offered more face to face interaction and more tradional campus experience sol focus on self directed learning better with my own style i havenot got a rejection from other college i applied to there is not elegitiblity to get an admission on sol they offereing a direct addmission, just you have to pass your academics qualifications 12th there have no exam to get addmission and no cutoff for these exams the admission process at sol was relaatively straighforward. i applied online through the offical sol website submitting the required documents and paying the application fee. the admission was based on my academic record and i received an offer letter shortly after the application. i can assume that they likely involved different criteria or combination of factors depending on your course overall i m statisfied with my decision to choose sol

Faculty

4

faculty members of this college are nice and smart, they are also very polite to students but the ratio at SOL is generally high meaning thare aer many students per faculty member this can sometimes limit individual attentiion but faculty members are generally approachable and willing to assist student through various means of communication the best faculty members are often a matter of personal preference and can very greatly depending on individua learning style and course perferences. most courese at sol have one or two major examination at the end of the academic year the difficulty level of exam can range from moderate to callenging. the questions are typically designed to test students understanding of the course material and their ability to apply concepts yet , there are very few students fail to clear the exam but mostly students are passed the specific examination pattern and difficulty level can vary significatly betweeen courses

Night Life

4

the nightkife like in or around college campus is good there are market late night activites and hangout spots the areas surrounding the sol office and study centeres offers various entertaing and socializing

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
