Course Curriculum Overview

3

My course of AIML is quite relevant. The curriculum is updated every year in correspondence with industry experts. I chose this course because it teaches AI which is a very hot topic effectively. The curriculum prepares you good enough for real world jobs and applications. The curriculum is good enough but the teaching methods couuld be more practical world oriented. The number of internals is too many and hence bcomes too frequent. The checking is quite fast and efficient, the results come out pretty soon. The exam levels are quite good too. they are quite standard. They are a lot application based.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The placement is okay for the current job market. The average package is good enough. companies like cognizant, infosys, paytm, cipla, amazon, dhl, nokia, IBM. About 90 companies came this year and about 1000 students placed this year. Highest Package this year was 52LPA(Deel) and Average package was 7LPA. About 70% students get placed in on campus placement drives. I plan to carry on with masters in my field after this degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees paid through COMED-K portal was Rs. 281477. This is the tuition fees for all colleges under Comed-k. Additionally: Skill LAb Fees: 20000 VTU fee: 10610 Eligibility Fee: 1500 Therefore total fees taken during admission: 32110

Campus Life

4

There are 2 main cultural fests called Furore (August) and Vibrations (December). Also department organised tech fests and hackathons. There are a wide range of books and journals available in the library. Be it course books or fiction. Also there are amazon kindle to read ebooks. There are enough study halls and there is a advanced digital library. Apart from these there are advanced labs. There is a advanced smartboard in every classroom. There are also computer labs for all kinds of applications be it AIML or Cybersecurity. There is a huge ground and facilities for sports like Tennis, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Badminton. There is one Centre for Performing arts, Which has cultural clubs like ABD, Trinada, Litsoc. These keep the students involved and the campus vivid with flash mobs and performances.

Hostel Facilities

5

In every room there are four beds, and an almirah for each student. There is also a study table and chair provide for each student. The meals from the mess is really good I would say. The menu is realkly good and versatile. It mixes the nothern cuisine with the southern cuisine very well. The food quality is also great. The registration process for the hestel is a bit troblesome and the price is a bit high.

Admission

I applied to BMS Institute of Technology and management and RV institute of technology and management apart from this college. Among these my college has the best campus. The admission process of my college was quite streamlined but the the hostel booking system was a bit trouble some. The average placemnet perecentage and package is also better than the other colleges. I didn't get rejection from the other colleges but I chose this because it was the best among them. My course accepts students from COMED-K and KCET. The cutoff for my course in COMED-K was 6.5k. The admission process was quite streamlined.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is around 3:1. The faculties are quite friendly, we can approach them easily outside of class. I like Abhinav RB sir who teaches POP and Neelam Pathidar ma'am who teaches Maths because they are very friendly. I can't disclose names of faculties I didn't like but some are very unfriendly. There are 4 exams in one semester. 3 internals and one semester end exam. Students mostly clear internals and sem-ends in the first year. The Curriculum is relevant enough. The teachers don't follow marking scheme rigidly and check flexibly

Night Life

5

There is a Gym, a cafeteria, a library. There are great spots on the campus like the rock gardern and amphitheatre to spend time between classes. The campus gets closed within 6 PM and hostel closes wihtin 9:30PM People like to hangout in the rock garden and personally, its very beautiful. There multiple cafes outside college to hangout. The locality is mostly safe and friendly even during nightitme. The campus during nighttime is very beautiful, and serene. people play badminton even late in to the night. Students hang out around the cafes aoud the college to unwind after a day of classes. The gym is quite sophisticated and advanced. Its well decorated too. Its feels great to just roam around the campus at night.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
