Likes

The teachers are very helpful and the place is clean. Just front of the college Ganga river is also here and good environment overalls.
You can find many delicious food stalls here. Also big restaurant is here.

Dislikes

It is not exact near from nearest railway station you have to take auto to go to college.

This college has a branch of Netaji Subhash open university. The college department celebrate several cultural festival also. Especially holy is very famous in this college. This college provide placement also.

Fees and Financial Aid

5200/year including all like tution fees,lab fees but at the time of practical examination you have to paid extra amount also you have to paid extra amount at the time of yearly examination. The students of science background has to pay more amount than arts background. You can apply for several government scholarship from here.

Campus Life

Several cultural festivals held here. Especially holi is very famous in this college. Vast amount of books are available in the library. They have all the facilities for science background students. The culture of this college is very good.

The overall environment is the main reason to choose this college over than other colleges. No i didn't rejected by other colleges. If you want to take admission in this college you have to visit their website.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is more than sufficient. Subrata sir is one of the faculty in this college but he is only for open university students. Others staff are also good. Semester wise exam is conducted here.

Night Life

The famous chandernagore stand is just front of this college and a huge ship restuarant is also here. Several religious place is here. A girja is just behind the college. Transportation is also good. Greeny environment is everywhere in this college.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements.
