Remarks

Hostel facility must be provided to each student. I didn't get hostel accommodation so I took a small room on rent near my college. But I paid a huge amount as rent. There are many other problem living in a rented accommodation.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Curriculum for master of science is as per UGC though current topics are also taught in DU. The curriculum not only covers University examination but also helps students crack competitive exams like NET, GATE, etc. Whole curriculum is divided into four semesters.

Placement Experience

3.5

In DU there is annual Campus placement fair. I didn't participate in such placement drive because I have got a government job during my masters. But many of my friends hot jobs through campus placement in reputed companies like Asian paints, Mitsubishi, etc.

College Events

4.5

Flower festival in February, annual function and each North campus college has its own list of events. I do not remember their names. I did attend many events performed by singers and musicians. Art faculty organise more cultural events

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are semester wise. In 2012 it was like 5k for a semester. Around 2k as examination fees. Very affordable as compared to facility it provides. One of our professors told us that there is more than 5k expenses on each student per day in laboratory.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are lots of scholarships for meritorious students. I didn't remember their names but each time the administration make display of such scholarships notice. Also there is UGC JRF scholarship for PhD students.

Campus Life

4.5

Labs are one of the best in India. Labs have equipments which are currently used by international research institutes. I was not interested in sports in my college time but there is a lot of facilities for sport.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I didn't get hostel accommodation but some of my friends got one. Hostels are super affordable only 2k bucks a month for a room. Mess charges are around 2-3k but the mess facility is very good. Food is wholesome with lots of varieties. Veg and non veg both options are there.

Alumni/Alumna

I hailed form a small town of Rajasthan to DU. In my first semester I faced a lot of problems regarding curriculum. I didn't get much help form my peers. At last I contacted some seniors and they guide me to understand the curriculum.

Admission

For admission in Master of science courses in DU, there are 2 ways; half of the seats are filled by merit list. Remaining half seats are filled by all India entrance examination. The merit list option is only for students passed from colleges affiliated to University of Delhi.

Faculty

4

DU provide one of the best faculties to students. All professors are eminent. Besides teaching faculty there are state of art laboratories and libraries as well. Laboratories have not only conventional equipments but also imported equipments which can only be afforded by a central University like DU.

Remarks:

I have enjoyed my Masters at this college. It was a good experience studying here. The faculty was humble skilled and polite that I have faced no major issue in any subject. The library was having enough books related to subjects and also outside the syllabus. Overall experience was quite good in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research.

Positive thing is that faculty and department is very good. Campus is so good and clean. More importantly, in delhi to get such a beautiful campus is totally a bliss. Negitive thing is that politics is included in every thing.

I appeared for an entrance exam which was organized by the institute themselves. The entrance exam was basic but I was nervous about the interview. My interview lasted for almost half an hour and then I was finally granted admission.

ISI life is definitely a colourful one. You will have your study pressure, but besides that it will offer you to live independently. You can participate in various sports and cultural activity. And I can surely tell you, no other institute offer such low investment in education with big returns, be it grabbing a handsome package in a big corporate or reputed university in USA or Europe.
