Remarks

Everything has a few negative and few positive things. And the beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur is no exception. Thr college has negative point of very low percent of placement of the students

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was designed by University. And was quite old. The curriculum needs to be updated towards latest trends in the industry. The exam pattern is also not upto the mark. It doesn't evaluate the studentd capabilities

Placement Experience

2

Placement in the college is something that one needs to worry about. There is almost no placement support for the students of the college. And they do not provide any type of internship to students.

College Events

4

There are a number of different events organized in the college like tech fest, cultural fest and many other events including freshers, farewell, hostel nights. Where the students get to show their cultural, technical and other skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of the college decided mostly by the Punjab Technical University and then the government. The college has quite affordable fees structure as compared to other similar colleges as it is run by the government

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no such facilities offered as the college is run by government. All the government rules and policies imply and same is for the scholarship and loan facilities in the college. Students have to see for themselves

Campus Life

4

All the lap equipment and machinery were quite good and upto the mark at the college and the students were free to use these equipment to learn technical skills by experiencing and experimenting with these equipment

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel infrastructure is not that much good. But the food was just eatable. Hostel facility is avalable but services offered at the histel are not quite as good as they should be in an engineering college

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the seniors in the college were very helpful and they supported us in every field be it educational, sports, cultural or any level. They help the junior students whenever they need and were very supportive

Admission

Through Punjab CET entrance Exam where you get seats according to your rank in the Exam. And you need to choose the college in the counselling from the list of over 100 different colleges, you have to choose your preference

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college was quute skilled and hard working. They are very supportive and cooperativr with the students. And also take care of the issues any student have. All the faculty of every department is helpful

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
