Course Curriculum Overview

The college is autonomous so they only teach you which is important for your placement and for future aspects. The teachers teach you only from their notes not from any other extra books which i don't consider a good thing they should teach from other boom also

Internships Opportunities

Not so much internship opportunities are there. In this college is lacking if you want to do internship then you have to pay there is not free internships in the college in this paid internships if you do good then they will give you stipend.

Placement Experience

The college placement rate in fast few years is 2021- 95%, 2022-98%, 2023-97%,2024-98% but in CSE department from 3 years 100% placement rate is there. My plans after getting the degree is i want good package if didn't get then i will do masters

Fees and Financial Aid

My total fees for yearly is 1,84,000 and semester wise 92000 in which hostel and mess food is included ni extra fees for food and all lab fees are included except you have to pay every semester 2500 for registration fee. If you are SC/ST or from Odisha then they will give you scholarship.

Campus Life

In each year there is 2 big fest is held and also like food fest, tech fest are held. Almost every month there is DJ night in which some famous DJ are come to perform. College structure and class structure is very good and attractive.

Hostel Facilities

In every hostel room there is attached bathroom which is good not like others college which have one common bathroom in every 3-4 days gap 1 person will come to clean your room and bathroom. Mess food is good in week 5 days you will get non veg food and if you are vegetarian then there is paneer for you

Admission

I chose Gandhi engineering college over other college because of friendly fee and also due to city which this college is located which is Bhubaneswar which known for good college teaching for engineers. This college provides you the features of being autonomous and 100% placement rate in CSE department.

Faculty

Faculty members are very friendly to students and also very helpful. In every 3-4 months gap semester exams will held in every semester 2 internal exam will held which are important. Semester are medium level not so hard if you study properly

Night Life

In campus there is gym,library for students which is not take any extra fees from students and also there is cafeteria in this you have to purchase what you want like, snacks , coffee and etc. After 7.00pm you can't go outside the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Comprehensive Review of Campus life at IIIT Bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placementfrom the beginning of 7th semester. Major companies that visit include Oracle, Media.net, Tiger Analytics, Incture, Quantiphi, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Informatica and many others. The highest package offered was 24 LPA by Zscaler, while the average package for the electronics branch stands at 6 LPA. This year placements were affected by the recession, resulting in approx 100 students remaining unplaced.

Value For money college

My decision really came down to ROI and getting the CSE branch specifically. I tried for top government colleges like OUTR and VSSUT, but my JEE rank wasn't high enough for Computer Science there. I actually got Electrical at C.V. Raman, but I was determined to study CS, and private universities like KIIT were way out of my budget. It eventually came down to GEC vs. GITA. I picked GEC because the fees were slightly lower and the hostels are much better since we get attached washrooms. The admission process was super smooth; I applied through OJEE counseling based on my JEE Main rank, and once the seat was allotted, I just went to campus for document verification. They also have management seats if your rank is lower, so getting in isn't too stressful....Read More

GEC- The Mnemosynes Way

Well to start I gave my JEEMAINS 2021 exam but unfortunately at the same time on MAy 4th MY died and I got off track for about 5 months and when I again got myself back anyhoe then I got the opportunity to go for GEC and as far I have gathered info and seen through my eyes the fees with the reutn of knowledge we got its far more better than many colleges. My main reason to choose this college is a bit un-traditional as I wanted to go somewhere far, cause I knew I can do what I want as I was stusying about coding from class 11.
