Course Curriculum Overview

3

Total course curriculum is actually irrelevant.without even realising what we learn we just mug it up and reproduce it in our answer papers.Frequency of exams is less and the difficulty level is very high

Internships Opportunities

3

We have one year internship at the hospital with a stipend of about 30000.We have postings at different departments for about few weeks. We work as house surgeons. We have to take rounds along with doctors and write the case sheet

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees per year is 27000.Hostel fees include about 11000 per year.Monthly mess fee is 3500.But scholarship is only 25000.I have to pay all the fees as I belong to OBC.Batchmates who belong to sc and st do not pay the fees whereas general category do not receive even the scholarship

Campus Life

4

We actually celebrate every special day in the calender. We also have annual arts and sports meet during the october december. We have different clubs like dance music environment football cricket etc.We have a decent library consisting of almost all books. The extracurricular activities offered in college is nice

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities is actually wow.We have a room with 3 roommates.Three beds and three wardrobes.Meal quality is poor.Because the mess secretaries are not efficient.I don't prefer to rent a room or PG since I want all my friends together

Admission

I applied to gmc kozhikode and gmc trivandrum.I didn't get the seat in those colleges because my neet rank was less.I didn't choose this college but the college chose me.Eligibility is minimum of 600 marks in neet but you get admission according to your category.Overall admission experience was not good

Faculty

2

Number of faculties for the students is less that is the faculty student ratio is less. The patient load of our hospital is very high as compared to the doctors available. There are only a few teachers which I like and a lot whom i dislike

Night Life

4

We have a lot of restaurants and cafes where we could hangout with our friends.Food varieties available is really appreciable. There is no time limit in both hostel and campus. Our main hangout places are food spots.Night life is a bit boring since people stares at girls.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Kerala University of Health Sciences - [KUHS], Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Reviewed on Nov 30, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
