Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum has been recently upgraded and updated. No longer physics, chemistry and mathematics are taught in first years like other colleges. In DTU from the first year subjects relevant to department are taught. Two exams midsem and endsem are held. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate and the content is based off the teachers notes.

Internships Opportunities

3

Apple gave 1.2 lac/month internship oppurtunity to 15 students. However getting internships is a tad bit challenging for student as only 500 students out of 2400 are plaed for internship. The internship salaries are insane and very much sufficient to cover whole college fees

Placement Experience

5

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for plaacments. More than 1500 offers are made each academic year. Highest pckage was by Apple 64 LPA domestic and average package is around 13 lacs. Almost all students sit for placements excluding those who have active backlogs or have a low GPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for FY 2024-25 is Rs.2,36,700 and it increases by 15-20k every year. A health insurance worth 700 is included in the total fees. Also included is sports enrichment fees, library fees and tuiton fees. There is no seperate fee for different categories like other govt colleges. There are a lot and ample amount of scholarships for economically weaker section students from every category and religion. There is Dell scholarship which covers entire tuition and is for students woth annual income less than 5 lac. There are lot of departmental scholarships as well as scholarships donated and funded by alumni. Usually these scholarships are based on academic merit and financial need. Also, branch topper of every department is awarded Rs.10000 every year.

Campus Life

4

Two annual fest are held eachyear called YUVAAN and ENGIFEST. YUVAAN in November and ENGIFEST in Feb. Library has all kind of books. It currently includes approximately 1 lakh books. All classrooms are air conditioned and equipped with high tech projectors and digital boards. Sports complex has all kind of sports ameneties including a cricket field, hockey ground and football ground. We have clubs for every thing ranging from singing, dancing, car racing to debating and coding. All the clubs are student adminitered under the guidance of a professor and are granted budgets by the college and through sponsors.

Admission

DTU is located in Delhi and thus provides exposure to IT cities like noida and gurugram. DTU has a strong alumni base and startup culture thus also enabling students to start companies or find jobs easily.

Faculty

4

The faculty ratio is around 45:1 and all the faculties are very approachable and humble. The faculties never decline students request and always wish us to perform better. The faculty I liked the most was Mr. Massoud Massoudi who teaches us programming fundamentals. Each semester you have 6 subjects, 4 worth 4 credits and 2 worth 2 credits. Each student has to take a minimum of 20 credits every sem. In core branches a lot of students fail in tough subjects otherwise its quite easy to pass and excel.

Interview Experience

5

No group discussion and interview. The entrance is solely based on JEE mains Rank and your category : General,SC,ST or OBC. There is a 85% qouta for students of Delhi and 15% for other states. Unlike other colleges DTU, currently, doesn't have a reservation for females.

Night Life

1

Hostel closes around 10 pm for boys. A lot of gyms around area are present and student s go there due to business of the college gym in peak hours. The locality is not very safe to roam around in night.

Other Applied Colleges

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunity in my college are decent and students become eligible for placement from the final year. Many companies visit the campus for different roles. The average package offered is satisfactory for freshers . Around a good number of students get placed every year based on their skills and performance . The college also supports students with training and interview prepartion.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

Actually, Placements sceanrios are too good but sometimes, it depends on the nature of the market and PC (Placement Co-ordinators too), which contact directly with the companies to hire students from our colleges. If you didn't got the placements then, the college have one year policy, after your course till one year later. You can sit in the placements in the college.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
