Course Curriculum Overview

5

The 5 years law itself has fascinated me to choose to get into the course. The curriculum is well-versed and the research applies to today's legal education relevant to the 21st century. Subjects like Economics need to be taught in a better manner. The exam frequency as such does not matter because the yearly calendar gives the proper time to study the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college has provided an internship in Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for the winter internship. Our project provided the internship in the project Saksham that helped us understand the ground realities of the people who are living in the slum areas, and we can't with the people who are directly affected by the law .

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has a yearly fee payment structure of 190000 for the entire year that does not include hostel charges because has no hostel accommodation available right now. There are some seats reserved for the course in the other hostels of the Delhi University. There are scholarships available to students who have low incomes. Two types of scholarship 1 Parents income till 4 lakhs he/she will get the relaxation of fees of 90 percent. 2 Parents income between 4 lakhs to 8 lakhs he/she will the fee relaxation of 50 percent. There are only two scholarship available here my some batchmate will pay 1,90,000 and some will pay 95,000

Campus Life

5

Our college is relatively new when compared to the other Delhi University colleges. Our college has organised the Elysian event in the college to get the interaction between juniors and seniors. Our college has a dedicated library in which we can get the maximum number of books and journals for the research work. Our college has given access to the DU e-library which has an ample amount of resources to read. The classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and surveillance through CCTV in the campus proper security is available in the college.

Admission

I choose this college because of the location and name of the Delhi University. I got admitted to NLU Sonepat College, which has a new building and everything, but that location is disadvantaged over Delhi University. I chose the Integrated Law Course at Delhi University over NLU Sonepat. I did not get rejected from any colleges because, in CLAT, we have to choose a preference list, and according to ranking, we get the college. Our college takes admission through CLAT only. It offers courses like BALLB(HONS) and BBA LLB(HONS). Total seats are 120 and 60 each.

Faculty

4

The student-to-teacher ratio is 40:1 That is good. The teachers are masters in their subjects, and their way of teaching helps us to critically analyse the issues with a wider perspective, and we can easily relate to the law. Dr Sneh's mam is a good example. She taught TPA she teaches from scratch to master the concepts. She never hesitates to questions on the topic and gives answers to all the questions. All the teachers are good in their teaching. The college has 2 examination 1 mid-term 20 marks 2 End semester 60 marks The other 20 marks bifurcation (5 marks for attendance) 10 marks for the research paper 5 marks for presentation. The marking scheme is very subjective. Some teachers are lenient, and some are strict. Studying properly, you can get decent marks. All know that DU faculty of Law marks aare not too much the same as the 5 years. course

Night Life

4

The college is located on The orth campus. You can visit spots like Kamla, Nagar Market Hudson Lane, MKT and the famous tea spots of Sudama tea stalls. T here is no hostel in the campus. The campus timing is 5:30 PM

Course Curriculum Overview:

My father chose Law for me and he was influenced from the general mass that was opting law at that time. The curriculum of law is arbitrary, it is very far from how courts work and operate, the real life experince is hardly taught and the real courts and law can only be understood through internships and practice. There should be real practicing lawyer teaching the working of courts at least once a week or twice a month to prepare the students for what they are going to face in courts and companies. The exams were Moderate in difficulty.

At IIMT School of Law placements are better than many law colleges. Last year only around 60-65% students were placed and even though salary offered was quite less but atleast getting direct jobs itself is a huge achievement when number of law students and law colleges are increasing by the day.

At VIPS law placements are quite sorted as in Delhi most chambers have made it a point that their first preference will always be students who have studied in Delhi. This gives VIPs a very big advantage as in private colleges ours is the best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive in my opinion as it offers me the openness to experience for the course I am currently pursuing. The course offers seven subjects. The subjects changes by semester system. Each semester offers different subjects, therefore, the scope of boredom will not arise. moreover, it will provide knowledge on every topic in depth. I do not found any disadvantage of this course.
