Course Curriculum Overview

2

Curriculum is outdated and needs a remodel. With the advancement of current society and cutthroat competition, the curriculum needs to be up to date and should also integrate use of AI to automate the tasks which are laborious manually. More assignments should be offered so that students do not lose touch with the topics they're taught.

Internships Opportunities

1

I'm currently a first year student. The college strictly does not offer NOC to students before 3rd semester. Students do get opportunity to apply for internships and it is mandatory for every student to have done at least two internships before 5th semester.

Placement Experience

1

Placement cell for DU LLB is dead. It's non functioning. Student Union candidates often promise revival of the cell but it's always the same story. DU LLB course is more judiciary and litigation oritented. Corporate placements do not make sense anyway. Students can still however apply for companies. The college awards NOC after completion of second year only however.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course I'm enrolled in is a 3 year LLB course. The fee structure is as follows: 6K INR per year. Therefore 18K INR for all three years+ 1K admission fees. There are no further charges. Delhi University offers fee concecssions for students of EWS category. There are also various scholarships one can apply for. There is FSS which is basically a refund of your fee. The course is excellent in the view of return of investment.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. Student mostly visit library apart from classes. There's no personal fest. One can always attend DU common fest or a fest at a neighboring college. Curriculum books are available in library. Apart from curriculum, a whole section has been dedicated to Supreme Court reasing and AIR books. It is a post graduate college so sport section is out of the question. There are 9-10 societies and they organize events routinely.

Admission

I chose this college simply for the excellent value it offered. LLB from Delhi Univertsity is well reputed and it's very cheap. Being a computer science student, I had applied in MCA courses and kept LLB as a backup. I got acceptyed into several MCA courses in IP University. But the fee is exorbitant and very high, with low return of investment, so I optedd for LLB. The admission process is very basic. Students fill out admission form, the University lays out merit lists and students who meet the criteria can apply to their respective courses by paying admission and first year fee. The cut offs were reasonable. They were actually lower than expectations.

Faculty

4

The faculty is excellent! The professors are well versed and eloquent with their lectures. The curriculum is however, obsolete. The curriculum needs an overhaul. Regardless, the faculty is great and friendly with lectures and doubts. There is a 70% attendance critera and a few professors are very strict regarding it. Others are chill. There's a system of only end semester examinations. Exam pattern is as follows: MM:100, students get eight 20 marker questions out of which they have to attempt only questions, the questions can either be of 20 or of 10 marks in parts. The exam checking is very strict. The average is very low.

Interview Experience

5

Admission takes place on the basis of CUET examination. The syllabus ranges from English to Math to Computer to Social Science. It's an all in one package. The weightage for Reasoning, Maths, Computer and English is enough to get you into this course however. There's a lot of books available in the campus or Patel chest for preparation of the same. I peronally prepared online.

Night Life

5

Nightlife around the campus is beautiful. Library is open till night so a lot of students can be seen around the campus. The lamplight makes the view is exquisite and beautiful. A lot of students come around Faculty of Arts so socialising is not big task. Students can opt for University hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.

After 2 years of integrated courses, you can become eligible for a job. In law, there is no company, but if you have good communication skills, you will be placed in one of the high courts or supreme courts under a senior lawyer. I don't know much about packages. My plan was to go to Oxford University for further studies.
