Course Curriculum Overview
The rising opportunities provided by ACCA as well as its flexibility as compared to CA helped me choose this course. Professors using practical applications and real world examples and making students take over the class instead of regular lecturing methods help students become industry ready. Timings of exams are hectic as it is decided by the college itself as they are autonomous. The first semester's finals have not yet been conducted and they have already started second semester classes this year.
Internships Opportunities
Several companies such as Big 4 are known to provide great internship opportunities to Rajagiri students. I have not yet been able to receive such an opportunity as I have just begun my second semester so I am not aware of the roles or stipends. These can be applied for through online forms
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from sixth semester. EY, Deloitte and KPMG are known for providing such opportunities to students of my college. Highest and average package is about 3-6 lakhs p.a. My plans after degree include receiving work experience before pursuing MBA abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees per year for both B.Com and ACCA combined is 218750. B.Com only is 90000 per year. Study material fees are not included. These fees may or may not increase as the years go based on demand or reputation. This is under management category. Many scholarships are available for specific castes, gender or NRI.
Campus Life
We have splendore every year organized entirely by the students. There are also many events based on festivals such as onam and christmas as well as enrichment programs to provide awareness and initiative for several important global social issues. All classes are equipped with smart screens. We have commerce clubs which are mandatory for all to join.
Hostel Facilities
I'm from Nirmala Hostel, part of a 3 people sharing space with common washroom. There are also 2 people attached options but they are limited and only a lucky few are allotted those. Meals are average with both non veg and veg but are repeated weekly. Registration was done through a physical application form on the day of college admission and later details are sent through mail.
Admission
ACCA's 9 paper exemption helped me choose this college. I applied for Christ as well but chose this college to be closer to my native place. There is no entrance exam to get in. Only marks scored 12th are considered. 93% was said to be cutoff for the same. Admission process was troublesome due to its unorganized system and took an entire day of waiting to submit all documents.
Faculty
All faculties are very approachable and ready to help at all times regarding projects and assignments. Counseling sessions and mentorship programs are conducted to ensure wellbeing of students. Exams are conducted semester wise with a good pass rate for B.Com and a roughly 40% pass rate for ACCA
Night Life
Gyms are there for both girls and boys separately. Cafeterias such as Skypiea and Cloud9 are always popular spots to hang out within the college. Hostel curfew for girls is 7 pm (Nirmala) and for boys is 8:30 pm (Social). Outside college, Al Taza is a famous hangout place.
