Remarks

The college is quite good and I never experoienced anything bad in my three years I studied in this college. The management is quite friendly and are open for suggestions.

Entrance Preview

The selection to this college depends upon the marks you achieve in your +2 board exams. There is no entrance test or interview. For the stream I went for one need to achieve a minimum of 70% aggregrate in the board exam. Offcourse this depends year to year on the average marks scored by the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was pretty neat and brief that has covered almost all the subjects/topics realted to Mass Communication. There are enough of case studies and practicals that will enable a student to learn the aspects of Mass Communication to a greater extent. It is a three year full time course that is divided into 6 semesters (2 in each year). First two years are common for all the students and in the third or the final year you have 2 choices to choose between Advertising & Journalism.

Internships Opportunities

I went for for a full time internship with an advertising agency during my vacation and was paid an amount of Rs.8, 000/- per month. Students here go with advertising agencies, news companies, print media, PR agencies, production houses for their internships.

Placement Experience

1.5

During our time, no placements happened and one need to search job on their own. Honestly, more or less everyone got absorbed somewhere within 6 months. Later, from my juniors I heard that now one placement cell has been formed for this stream and students are now assisted.

College Events

3.5

There were a lot of cultural festivals through out the year where faculty, management and students participiated. Raaga & Impressions were the famous ones. Students from other colleges were also invited to participate. Attimes noted people from the media induustry were invited to deliver guest lectures on the latest market trends and insights.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees were quite reasonable. One need to shell out an average of Rs.15, 000/- per year that is equivalent to Rs. 45, 000/- for the whole course of three years unless you repeat.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not take avail any loan or scholarship but there are facilities available for scholarships. There are subsidies given to students who are financially disadvantaged.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is almost equal and both the juniors &seniors jel well with each other. There is no gender or religion discrimination. The management is there to help you out incase of any such situations.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The canteen was at it's best and you get good food at reasonable rates. Only veg food though. There is hostel facility as well but that was mainly for the guys coming from outside. The hostel is clean and well maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

We do receive e-mails as a part of the alumni association on the ongoing activities in the college. Mostly all the students who have passed out aredoing good and are well estabilished in their personal capacity.

Exam Structure

The main semester exams used to happen twice a year followed by a long vacation that gave us enough time to chill and come back fresh for the next semester. Ofcourse exams of 10-20 marks used to happen quite often whose marks were added to the main exams.

Faculty

4

Faculty of college was experienced and all of them shared their knowledge. There was visiting faculty too that further enabled the students to feel the market and current situation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
