Course Curriculum Overview

4

Postings are helpful because we get to learn a lot of things and even the practical classes of pre and para clinical subjects. But keeping attendance mandatory for theory class doesent help much bcoz at the end we remember only those things which we have studied in our space and peace of mind. But attendance is very important criteria for getting eliginility for final exams

Internships Opportunities

1

Internship is to be done in our clg or wherever they post us.Its compulsory.I think that gives u a lot of time to prepare for PG exams and its not stressful. The working hours are balanced and interns also help their juniors when they go to postings

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly academic fees is close to 65000 and hostel s fee is 9000/yr which includes the room fee electricity water.Only mess bill is to be paid per month which is approx 2800/month.There are many national and statelevel scholarships being provided.

Campus Life

4

Its good.We have events in our college which we take part. The most awaited event of the year is ganesh chaturthi which is celebrated very nicely over a period of 5 days.there are cultural prgrammes and concerts organized during that time...Kannada rajyotsav is also celebrated very nicely

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are goodd and well maintained. There are cleaned regularly. But at times hot water is not available in the morning bcoz of water shortage. Our issues are addressed on time regarding electricity and all.there is dedicated staff to look after all this.

Admission

I chose this college bcoz academics is pretty good here compared to other medical colleges where professors hardly teach anything. And it is convienent for me as it near to my homeplace so travelling wont be any issue. The admission process went smoothly without any glitches iff ur ready with right documents.

Faculty

4

Faculty memebers are really good.each student is taken really good care. They take classes properly which in other medical colleges classes dont run.even in the clinical postings professors teach us a lot of stuff regarding patient interaction and how to take history properly. The course is of 4.5 yrs and 1 yr of internship so the total comes to about 5.5yrs.Throughout 4.5 yrs over 19 subjects are taught. 1st yr-anatomy,physiology,biochemistry 2nd yr-pharmacology,pathology,microbiology 3rd yr-Community medicine,Forensic medicine and toxicology,ENT,Ophthalmology Final yr-Medicine,surgery,Obstetrics and gynaecology,Pediatrics,Orthopedics,Anaesthesia,Radiology,Dermatology, psychiatryetc So each yr is divided into 3 blockss and after each block there is an internal so 2 internals and 1 prelims are conducted by the college. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY for getting eligibility for final exams Passing minimum 2 internals is necessary to become eligible for final exam which is conducted by the university.overall academics is good

Night Life

4

Girls have intime which is 8:30 so we dont really have an intime bcoz we will be in hostels itself at night bcoz there are strict rules if we come even 5 mins late after 8:30 we have to pay a fine of 500.There are many cafes and restos close to our college where we hangout after college. There are many waterfalls near Belagavi so we go on 1 day trips and stuff like that. All the clothing and fashion stores are in front of our college only

the classes are taken regularly in preclinical and paraclinical subject and some of clinical subjects as well. these are slidepresentation, demonstration and group discussions. there is great learning opportunities. case discusions are done in clinical postings. integrated leaning is not much practiced and would be drawback. library timings are not suitable at all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I liked Biology very much in my 11th and 12th and I also wanted to be a doctor since my childhood. Faculty:student ratio in this college is well maintained. There is 1 faculty member over 25 students. All the faculty are well qualified and experts in their fields. Some of the professors are functioning as scientists for the university and have reserved some patents for their researches. The teaching methodology is also very good and according to the latest norms set by the university. Every year you have to go through some college-level exams ( Internal Assessment) three times. And you must score at least 50% as aggregate in each subject to be eligible to give the final University Exams. All the exams taken are as per the latest Revised Scheme for evaluation set by the university. On average the difficulty of exams is high. Regular studies and consistency can make anyone pass the exams .
