Likes

The staff was very helpful in the college diring teh period of our degree.
The people were very welcoming and helpful and you make good friends in the college.
The staff was well versed and have expertise in their field.

Dislikes

There were no placements for us after the course .
The building is very old and needs to be refurnished.
The infrastructure is not very good and the college area is very small.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course was not up to mark and could not help me further in future. There were placements after the course . The teaching methods used were not upto mark . The difficulty level of exams were not much .

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 26000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for bcom is about 30 thousand per year which is paid semester wise. There are scholarships avialable for students belonging to sc and st categories which can be applied after you get admitted in the course.

Campus Life

The campus has good ambience. The cabteen area is fine yo hangout. The study pattern is not up to mark. The placements need to be provided for better opportunities for students after the completion of the course.

Admission

The admission of the course is done the merit basis and centralised admission of the colleges of chandigarh . I got admission in this college based on merit. I chose this over other because it was co ed.

Faculty

The faculty members of our college were helpful. Students are given assessment on the basis of presentations, assignments and attendance. There are mid semester exams held before final semester exams and the numbers are added in final marks.

Night Life

There is not much for night life because tgere is no hostel in the college campus. Hostels are little far away from the college campus area. The library and gym in the campus is open till 5 in the evening. There is a market near by the college .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

First of all this college is most renowned college of the Tricity and Being Government aided College it has it own importance . And if anyone of students is getting admission in this college , no one would have deny the opportunity. I have got admission in other colleges too but I preferred this college for its various facilities provided. For admission process you have to apply via centralised admission portal where you get the admission on the basis of your merit which is a sound method according to me.
