Sastra university has good infrastructure.
It gives good placements for people who do well in college.
It is affordable and worth for it's fees

Dislikes

The mess quality could be improved and can be made more hygenic
It also has strict rules which are strictly implemented.

Course Curriculum Overview

I'm currently a first year student my curriculum consists of all branches of engineering. The curriculum is up-to-date and a lot related to every field can be learned. There are frequent exams i.e every exam a month and are on a medium level

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 275000 per year

Placement Experience

Sastra is known for its placements and many companies come here for freshers. Placements also depends on a students skills and cgpa. Sastra also supports students with higher studies as an option. All branches of engineering are placed for most part.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fees is around 2.75 lakhs per year with hostel included. Each semester fee is around 90 thousand. There are scholarships available for people in top 1% of college. Our college also provides different scholarships for people in need and for merit students

Campus Life

There are 2 main fests held at sastra. They are held in even semesters. Kuruksastra is cultural fest and Daksh is technical fest. The college has many clubs and has an average social life. There are many sports facilities.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel room has a bed,study desk and 2 cupboards. The mess quality could be improved and the menu has a lot of varities. To apply for hostel simply head to the website and follow the steps accordingly.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

Sastra admission process is based on online counselling. There are two streams which take your Jee and +2 marks then a rank is allotted to you. The counselling is then proceeded with this rank and seats are filled with respective this ranks.

Faculty

The faculty are very good. They are approachable and can help you greatly. Some faculty are very strict and expect things from you. There are 3 internal exams and assignments/projects which consist of 50 marks and the rest 50 marks is taken from end sem exam. The difficulty of exams depends on your preparation.

Night Life

Students aren't allowed outside their hostels after 8:30 pm. Curfew time for girls is at 6:30 pm. Library timings are from 8am - 8pm. Gym is open around 5 in the morning and open till 8 in the evening.

Placement Experience:

Placements starts from the 7th semester.companies Like tcs,wipro,zoho,infosys vist. The highest packages is 24lap,average 3lpa and around 85%of student get placed. I plan to start my career in IT and gain experience.

Life At KCT

Placement Experience:

There are companies but the companies that were told that the good ones, they didn't come so much.. only a few companies that gave a package above 5 lakhs came in for my department.. the rest of them were either 4 lakh package or below it was not very good. even the 1 or 2 good companies that came tehy came for electrical.

Why SRM is better than other collages.

Placement Experience:

So from 6-7th semester they offers placements before that we have placement training in campus.So highest package for 2024 was 45 to 50 lpa,good offer given by amazon and other company also.So the average package is 7.5 lpa and highest package was 50 lpa.so 925 application are accepted in last 2 monts .My plans to get job and then after 2 years may be for higher study or startups.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of each course is different and it is followed by the guidance of Anna university, we have several topics and it is under the regulation of 2021 respectively, I feel this easier to learn and there comes an opportunity to do what we learn in theory hour in our laboratory hour it will make more connected to our course, but there is lagging factor that is we are far away from the modern world and we need to put effort to compete with. The exams are not difficult and the frequency of the exam is quite manageable.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 3rd year for placements and also who don't have standing arrears ,if they have standing arrears the clg management will remove them from placements and also the Placements are very poor . The average package is 350000/year . And the maximum package is 15L Last year nearly 100 students out of 180 in cse dept are non-placed , they are forced to write higher studies letter and submit in college . Even though they won't help for any placement side.

“SASTRA: Strict but Worth It”

had applied to a few reputed universities like VIT, SRM, and Amrita along with SASTRA. I did get shortlisted in some, but I chose SASTRA mainly because of its better academic reputation, affordable fee structure compared to VIT/SRM, and strict yet student-friendly environment. VIT and SRM had flashier campuses and more events, but their fees were almost double, so SASTRA felt like the smarter choice.
