Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is really well designed, they start from the basics and teach you industry relevant things in your electives. Although the curriculum is okay, how much you're gonna learn totally depends on what faculty you get in FFCS. We have exams every 1.5 months and the difficulty being not too harsh.

Internships Opportunities

2

A lot of companies visit VIT for placements and internships, some of them are TCS, Schneider electric, Nvidia etc. Mostly internships are offered for computer science roles like in software development, web development etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Depending on the catagory of admission, BTech fees is estimated to be (depending on course) around Cat 1- 2lpa Cat 2- 3lpa Cat 3- 4lpa Cat 4- 4.5lpa Cat 5- 5lpa The university provides scholarships to board toppers and VITEEE toppers. The caution fees was around 15k early deposit which is refundable.

Campus Life

4

Our college provides really good infrastructure, holds 2 huge events throughout the year and many small events otherwise. The clubs are actively involved in activities and freshers are allowed to join clubs in second semester. Socially, you have a lot of people to choose to be with considering the population at VIT.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are okay, for me I have 4 bed room. We have proper closet spaces and bookshelves. Mess in our hostel is bad but there are good messes around the campus. We have a different menu for each day and 3 types of mess to choose from (veg, nveg and special)

Admission

With me having only a few options, Manipal ECE VIT ECE Thapar ECE BITS Chemical I chose VIT because I only wanted to pursue ECE and that was the cheapest option among the others, also VIT provides lot of exposure for masters. For admission in VIT Students have to write their entrance exam called VITEEE, they can also enter through direct admission for integrated mtech degrees

Faculty

3

Some faculties are very approachable and supportive, most of them are highly qualified. The exam structure being two CAT (continuous assessment tests) and one FAT (final assessment tests), CAT 1 is very easy and CAT2 and FAT are supposed to be difficult. For CAT there are 5 questions, 10 marks each and 1.5 hours to complete it. For FAT there are 10 questions with 10 marks each and 3 hours to complete the test.

Night Life

1

There is literally no nightlife, all the cafe's and public areas close around 9, the men's hostel in time also being 9, we can enter the campus by 8pm. There is night library which is open to students until 12:30

Placement Experience:

For campus placements students of the 4th year or 7th semester are the eligible ones. Multiple companies like zoho, apple,TCS,CTS, accenture etc have come and multiple small companies too. But the intake for the big and reknown MNCs were low from abt 2-3 candidates only.the placement here is 100% but the companies may vary.My future goal is to go for a government official stream after I finish my masters abroad.

From 3rd year itself a student become eligible for campus placements and some of seniors got ino flipkart like companies. So the college is good at placement. In any colleges, due to college the student can't only be placed, their skills, talents, communication is more important to get placed so based their knowledge the students get placed. only thing college need to do is getting good companies with package and our college also provide it.
