Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculim has been instumental in shaping my learning. The relevance and practical applicability is the key to efficient learning. As a student from IT branch, even the non computers subjects greately intrigued me and left me wanting to learn more from those subjects. The curriculum is designed in a way to ignite curiosity. The frequency of exams however is not that good as once the midsems end, there is a gap before endsems and students usually relax between and they lost track of the subject. later starting to study for endsems prove to be difficult. however this is the students mistake but the teachers also should give assignments regularly instead of giving multiple at once.

Internships Opportunities

4

many major companies like google amazon walmart meta visit for internships. The performance of the candidate dictates if the company will give them the placement offer (after the internship) or not. Many students undertake software projects during their first 2 years which help them bag a internship which gives credibility for placement.

Placement Experience

5

The companies visit after 4th semester to hire interns for the summer internship of 3rd year. The actual placement season starts at the beginning of 6th semester and goes on for a few months. The students who performed well in internships get a pre placement offer from those companies and can also attend for interviews of other companies. This years placement details havent been released yet as the season is still going on but according to last years statistics, 1.84 crpa was the highest package offered. The average for tech branches is high but when we considering all branches, the average is usually around 15lpa. I plan on sitting for placements after getting my degree as it is the most financially viable option.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is around 2,50,000 for the btech course. Totalling to 10,00,000 for 4 years. The fees is same for all categories. There is no management quota. There is scholarships that can be availed after joining the university and these are usually by external sources and not the university. The fees has been increasing since the past few years which is a downside.

Campus Life

5

The overall campus life is one of the best you can get in India. There are multiple fests that happen in a year, the major ones being Yuvaan and Engifest. Even minor events like freshers day are celebrated with really good fests with many students from delhi attending. the accessibility of books is very good as the library is huge and it is 24 hours open during exams. Students can go there to study as it is ambient and all the resources are available. DTU also provides online resources from digital libraries which students can use to access research paers to study any topic in detail. The classtooms are equipped with projectors and have ac for the comfort of the students. Sports facilities in DTU are really excellent as the sports complex is huge with multiple sports facilities. The student run clubs are called societies and dtu has many of them. that was a major reason i joined Dtu. I myself have joined multiple societies and they are really engaging and keep you busy while doing the work you like.

Hostel Facilities

5

For first years, the ABH hostel or Type 2 is provided which are non ac 1bhk or 2bhk flats with one occupant in hall and 2 in each bedroom. For second years onwards they have a choice either 3 seater ac room or non ac. The meals are edible and youll get used to it. There are no washing machines in the first year hostel which was a downside. The registeration link was provided a week before the orientation and it was a completely online process. The fees for the first year hostel is 52000 plus 34500 for mess. second year onwards the fees will increase if you chose the ac rooms.

Admission

I had a confirmed admission in IIIT Jabalpur. I chose this university as the IIIT was located in the outskirts of a town in a reserved forest. The delivery of amazon packages would also take more than 2 weeks. Just travelling back to my hometown would take 3 days and would be a lot more expensive as there was no direct route. Delhi is the capital and travelling back is now just 3 hours by flight. The placements in DTU were a lot better than IIIT and IIIT was also a relatively new college without much recognition by major companies for placements. I also wrote jee advanced but i wasnt getting a good branch for my rank and i wanted to study computers so i took dtu. The admission process was with my jee mains rank and from a separate councelling called JAC. This is the councelling for DTU, NSUT and other good engineering univerities from Delhi.

Faculty

4

The faculty are very approchable. Their insights into the subject are very valuable. Most of all, they are friendly with the students so the learning experience is more efficient than when a student studies out of fear of marks. In each semister, there are midsems and endsems. The question papers are not that hard and any student who studies even for a week before the exam easily passes with good marks. Failing the exam is really hard and students only fail if they had any illness due to which they couldnt attend the exam. The course curriculum is relavent to the industly needs and that is one of the reasons the placements are very good. So far, i havent come across any faculty that i didnt like. Only downside might be that teachers usually speak in hindi and that was a problem for the first few weeks as I was from south. If requested they do speak in english.

Night Life

4

the gyms and library clost at 10pm. The hostels have an official curfew of 10pm which is strict for girls but non existent for boys. There is a night cafe which is open till 3am. The OAT, amul lane and sports complex are the usual hangout spots but every place in the university is a worthy enough hangout spot. The locality outside the uni is not that safe nor is there any night culture as the shops close by 11 and the maingate is closed for students exiting by 10. zomato and swiggy orders however can by collected at anytime after 10pm from the maingate.

The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
