Likes

Some teacher are fun to be around and they are nice as well
For someone who’s coming from a village, it’s a good college them considering the environment but expect much
Infrastructure is also good of the college.

Dislikes

There are absolutely no placements at all
The college doesn’t provide us with any internship opportunities
All the seminar that are held in the college are not relevant at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

Theoretically, the course is relevant enough, considering your pursuing BCom. If you talk about practical knowledge, you won't be taught any practical application of the subject, only the theoretical things.

Fees and Financial Aid

my college fees very affordable for around three years. It will only cost you around 50 to 60,000. Which is very affordable for a person. And as for the scholarships, there is a lot of scholarship opportunities, you can apply for there are reservation scholarships as well as state scholarships.

Campus Life

Other than NSS and NCC, I don't think there are any clubs that you can be involved in. The faculty will try to make new clubs, such as entrepreneurship club, IT club etc but these are just clubs, just for the sake of saying it There haven't been any activities at them at all

Admission

The admission process of this college of pretty smooth and the reason I chose this college because I have heard a lot of things that his college is very good as compare to other government colleges in Chandigarh, and their faculty is very good as compare to other colleges. Some of the teachers are very good.

Faculty

There are some teachers who are very nice and they also support you at every point of time, but they are also some teachers who are not at all cooperative. And as for the fee structure, it is very affordable. And the examination pattern is very old. It is following the same pattern that this University was following 20 years ago.

Night Life

Library of the college is very good as per the cafeteria. The prices of the food are very considerate and affordable. And as for the campus timing, you can only leave after 12 PM before that you won't be able to leave. You have to get an application signed from your HOD or Dean.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

First of all this college is most renowned college of the Tricity and Being Government aided College it has it own importance . And if anyone of students is getting admission in this college , no one would have deny the opportunity. I have got admission in other colleges too but I preferred this college for its various facilities provided. For admission process you have to apply via centralised admission portal where you get the admission on the basis of your merit which is a sound method according to me.
