Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is revised every 3 years. The curriculum is very easy to learn. But it is not that relevant and it doesn't prepare one to meet the real world conflicts. But since it's a literature subject, the curriculum helps to understand the things that happens around our surroundings and to be more conscious about that.
Fees and Financial Aid
Nehru Arts And Science College, Kanhangad is an aided institution. Therefore here there's both merit as well as management seats. For the meritorious students the semester fee falls around 1000 rupees and if the student is having any grants they'll be exempted from this fee also. For the management seats the donation varieties as per departments. For my course, ie, BA Malayalam, the donation for management seats was 50000. For courses like BCOM it will be around 1.5 lakhs
Campus Life
The college lacks behind in conducting cultural fests eventhough having a management and funds. The college provides a very good Library facility. Extracurricular activities are much encouraged and supported by the college. Student run social groups like sahithyavedi and all helps inculcate organizing skills in the students . Also there are political groups in this college
Admission
I chose this college because this is the college that I got when I applied for admission. When compared to other colleges this college is far behind. In the recent NAAC visit, the college was granted only an A grade while the nearby colleges were granted an A+. The admission to this college is by two ways. One is through management quota and the other through University admission portal. There's only a very low acceptance rate compared to the number of applicants
Faculty
The faculty here is good for my department. The faculty that I liked the most is Dr. Sheeja kp. She was the Head of Malayalam Department when I studied there. She's so straight forward and help us in all possible ways that she could. There are 6 semester exams and the exams are moderate level. The course curriculum is revised every 3 years
Night Life
There is no night life available in this college. The college gate closes by 6 in the evening and after that no one is allowed inside. Library facilities here is very good. The cafeteria is not that good but still affordable for students. Hostels are provided for girls in the college premises itself. And for boys, only sports quota boys gets hostel facilities
