Course Curriculum Overview

5

The courses that we are being thought in first year are a combination of all BTECH programs and few more courses such as law and design for us to explore courses and but as of now I think that these courses are not needed but it's being done in every college, the courses like C programming, maths and soft skills which are very much needed in real life and are thought very well, the course curriculum is just fine and I don't think it needs any changes. The exams are divided into three midterms, internals and endterms, midterms giving you 50 marks, internals giving you 50 marks and endterms giving you 100 marks so a total of 200 marks the whole year. The difficulty of examinations are average not very hard and not very easy. Timings for midterms is 1hour 30 minutes and endterms is 3 hours.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internships offered are sent through mails and can be applied for and the roles offered are based on your course, mostly the projects offered are data analysis etc for me because I am studying data science and internships are sent quiet often so there are various opportunities for that. The internships are usually paud internships where you have to pay to get the certification

Placement Experience

3

The placements at presidency university offers is average, the placements percentage is high but the packages are low, the highest was around 13L per Annum and average of around 3L per annum. Students are eligible for placements in third year, while having many opportunities for internships during the period of 4 years. There are various companies that visit our college for placements such as shell, tech Mahindra, dell, capgemini, and many more companies. My plan after degree is get a high paying job either through placements or self searched interviews

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a first year student at presidency university, the fees I am currently paying is 350000 INR. The fees can be paid in two instalments, first instalment in the first semester and the second instalment in the second semester. The fees should is divided into 70-30 instalment, 70-% of the fees should be paid in the first instalment and 30% in the next instalment. There are various scholarships you can apply, they are as follows: 1) merit scholarships - student should have 80% and above in physics, chemistry and other eligible subjects 2)JEE - student should be JEE qualified

Campus Life

5

Our college provides various events such as hackathon, mindrocks, invincia, etc. I had recently attended mindricks event which was concert type event, it was very fun, celebrities like MC square, jonita Gandhi, alia bhatt, Randeep hooda,Bhuvan bham, Zakir khan and many more had come overall the experience was great. The libraries are different for every department like engineering department has a different library, management has a different one and so does design there are various books Sports activities offered are football, basketball, cricket, table tennis, volleyball, throw ball, carom and badminton, coaching is provided for these sports and there are various clubs like h theatre, gaming, NCC, NSS, etc

Admission

I had applied for alliance and Dayananda sagar university(DSU), I chose presidency over them is because the crowd of alliance wasn't that great and DSU because they demanded for the fees to be paid in one shot while presidency gave us the opportunity to pay in two instalments, I never got rejected from those colleges I had to back out because of the above issues. The admission process is very easy you can come through management, CET, comedK and JEE, for management who need to have scored 60% and above in 12th, through CET you need to have rank below 20000. I have joined through management quota and it was an easy process for me

Faculty

4

The faculties at presidency university are good, the ratio of faculties is 60:1 for every subject, the faculties are very approachable and kind. I really like our soft skills teacher she helps us develop soft skills which are very essential for corporate life, there are teachers who are not that great but they teach really well, the examinations are average, they can easy and hard approximately 80-90% of them manage to pass the examination easily

Night Life

3

Nightlife at Bangalore is amazing but since the college is far from the main city it's a little hectic to travel, there gyms around the campus and also a gym in campus so people can access it very easily. There are cafeterias inside the campus and outside too. Hostel timings are a little too early which is 7:30pm so students can't go out after that which isn't fun at all. My favourite hangout place outside the campus is T-house and rocking cafe and the lawn inside the campus. The locality is safe cause the guards are everywhere but if you go further into the locality then it might be a little risky cause it's like a village around The campus

Other Applied Colleges

Alliance College of Engineering and Design | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning)

I didn’t opt for this college because the college had bad crowd

Dayananda Sagar University - [DSU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Data Sciences)

I didn’t opt for this college because the college demanded the fees to be paid in one shot

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”
