- Though you will find the whole BHU administration very nice, the DAV administration is good too.
- Faculties are really good. They put real efforts in process to guide you.
Dislikes
- College is located in the heart of old residential Varanasi so the premises is very small.
- There's very little or complicated scope of expansion in the college in future.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing my BA hons. in Economics here. I had my own reason to choose it like it has a wide scope and I had my interests. The course in BHU can't be poor anyway so it's obviously great. It's really good being here.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm in one of the co-ed registered college of the BHU, DAV PG College. The annual fees is relatively higher than that of BHU main campus. In the first year I paid something around 10.5k rupees and then around 6600 rupees in the second and third year. The fees as I think don't vary based on the categories for SC, ST & OBC. Everyone had to pay same.
Campus Life
Though the DAV campus doesn't hold any special annual event, BHU main campus has plenty of it where your participation and involvement is not bound. DAV campus organises just an annual sports event between faculties. Classrooms are good and the library is fine too. There's an indoor stadium which has a gym too, a good computer lab and a good auditorium.
Admission
During the admissions I had made it to three more universities, IGNOU, JMI & VBU. I come from Bihar so I left out VBU on the basis of regional speaking language. Else I would have been doing BA in Philosophy there. Coming to Jamia Millia Islamia, I had really a good course alloted, BA in Spanish and American languages. I missed it on document verification processes because I wasn't intimated through the mail that I was selected. It was later that I found it out. Coming about IGNOU... Who will go with IGNOU when you are admitted in such good universities. So I choose BHU and I am very happy for it.
Faculty
The faculties are really great here. They're cooperative, guiding, approachable easily and generous. In any situation, they are willing to help you. They are enough in numbers too. The examinations are held on BHU patterns and the semester exams of the students of this college are held at BHU main campus. The mid-semester exams are held in college itself.
Night Life
The college gates are closed late in the evening. The places around are complicated. Lot of shops, homes and people. One good thing is that its near to the second end of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the Maidagin end of the corridor. Though the nightlife around college may get quite in the late nights, it's always going just 500m away!
