Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is basic and doesn't feel forced. Students learn what they need and what will help them in the coming days as an industry elite. The curriculum prepares a student quite prudently to face the real world challenges that will surely come along. However, the course could be better if it was more practical than theoretical. The classes may get boring sometimes because most of your classes will be practical. The exams are perfectly timed and give students enough time to prepare.

Internships Opportunities

5

Aaj Tak, IndiaTV, Network 18 etc are some of the companies that offer internships here at JIMS Noida. The tasks range from editing and mixing to production and camera work. These are very real life experiences that will help all students in the future.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are not too shabby. As compared to other colleges, this college doesn't just dump you straight into a job but instead prepares you for one as good as they can. Students become eligible from the 5th semester for placements. However internships are offered from the first semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

45,000 fees for one semester 8,000 security deposit For BAJMC 25% scholarship is provided for students who scored 80%+ in 12th Boards. 25% additional scholarship is provided for students who score 75%+ in semester exams.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is great. With frequent events happening in the college one can stay busy. Teachers help you with your own projects and goals so that you can run your life using the resources of the college. The student run groups are non existent as there is always faculty intervention and guidance.

Admission

The main idea for me was the faculty. Each and every teacher is great at what they reach. The classes are interactive because the teachers are passionate to teach. I believe that above infrastructure and bling, the teachers are the true value of a college.

Faculty

5

JIMS Noida has the best faculty you can hope for. As a student here, the faculty is top notch because they conduct interactive classes and an easy to learn environment. The faculty is well behaved and Frank with the students. Each and every one in the faculty has at least 1 PhD to vouch for their experience. The exams are very easy because of the teachers interactive and engaging way of teaching.

Night Life

5

The cafeteria has hygienic and delicious food, paired with subsidised prices. The college, after hours, can be used to play indoor and outdoor sports. (Table Tennis, Cricket, football, chess etc) The hostel is well maintained and lively in the college.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

There are not many direct placement with major media houses although students sometimes get industry exposure through sessions or visits .

My main aim is to become an automobile journalist that is the aspect that influenced me to choose this course. Till the date i dont feel that improvements are needed in curriculam and teaching methods. As faculty is really good in teaching and timely providing notes as it really helps students to learn effectively for theory exams and concentrate on practical skills that are needed to secure good position in reputed firms in future

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
