Likes
- The college is a reputed one so it will be benefited later on
- The professors of our department are very helpful. We can reach them for help whenever needed. Also they support us for doing internship, workshop, etc.
- It is located in a good place. We can easily get transport, and there are also shops nearby where we get almost everything needed for study.
Dislikes
- The campus is very small. Since it is a govt. college the govt. should look after it as it is a great and reputed college which is doing good.
- The college authority most of the time don't focus on important things and focuses on useless things more.
- The laboratories don't have enough apparatus and equipments. Also the labs are not well maintained.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is relevant. Life science is interesting to study. It is interesting so I had chosen it. After studying this we can apply for masters or if we do this degree for 4 years according to NEP we will be able to apply for PhD without doing masters.
Internships Opportunities
There are internship opportunities. But for that you need to talk to your dept. for arranging it. Or sometimes they themselves gives it. But you need to be active and collect information by yourself sometimes otherwise you might not get the information about it
Fees and Financial Aid
We need to take admission per semester which is twice a year (app. 5000 per sem) and every sem we need to pay exam fees which is app. 1600 which includes practical fees. Students not having any practical need to pay less. Also we can apply for fee waiver during admission for we there are some criteria which need to be fulfilled.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is not at all good. The buildings are not in a good condition. Also there is no campus. The government should really look after it. They should provide space for the college. There are various clubs in college so you can join which you like. But there are so much place to practice sports and also there are no coach for training. The students practice by themselves. They are very good in it so they must be given training.
Admission
I chose this college as it has a good reputation. And we always get to hear about the name of this college whenever there is some talk about the best colleges of Assam. For admission first we need to apply online in samarth portal after that in college official website. They give 3 merit list and if there is our name in the list we need to come to college for admission. Also for the spots that left vacant there is a spot admission process later on.
Faculty
Most of the teachers are very supportive. The teachers of Botany dept. are good. All the teachers always help us whenever we go to them for any kind of help. But there are few teachers who are not much supportive. Per semester we need to give 2 sessional exams and one end semester exam.
Night Life
There is no campus life or nightlife if you study in this college. There is no place at all to hangout. The college is situated in a nice place so you can go out to hangout but inside college campus you might not get a place to even sit
