Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to be in CSE branch but due to low rank i only got Electrical. This is the toughest branch here and faculties of electrical are not very kind to you. Exams are not too difficult to pass if you study well before exams but you will have a hard time with electrical. Teaching methods and curriculum are great but i think that it is outdated.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a lot of students who manage to get internship in their first year. My classmate did an intership in his first year with 25000 INR stipend. Participating in hackathons will give you a great edge over others. Some also get PPO (Pre Placement Offer) in their 3rd year.

Placement Experience

4

You become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Various companies like Microsoft, Zomato, Amazon & Texas instruments come for campus placement. Highest package of 1.8 crores was offered in 2022 by Palantir London. 2022 Average was 24 LPA for CSE branch. 2023 highest package was 82 LPA and average was 23.7 for CSE branch. Placement ratio was about 70%. I hope to get a decent package from here. Tech field is full of competition.

Fees and Financial Aid

The current fees (2024) of my second year is INR 2,39,000 which includes tuition fees and all the other charges. Tuition fees is about INR 1,50,000. For a government engineering college, i feel like this is a little more than what it should be. It is amost equal to expensive private colleges. Sholarships are available like merit cum means sholarship. There's scholarship for minorities and for those whose per annum income is below 2.5 lakhs. SC & ST categories can avail upto 100 percent scholarship. Scholarship is available for OBC category as well.

Campus Life

4

DTU is all about fests. If you're a party person, you'll love it here. There's tech fest, food fest, diwali mela and above all ENGIFest which happens usually in February. Almost every book yoh need will be available in the library where you can get them. Library is the best place to study but gets a little crowded during the exams. There's a faily large cricket ground along with football ground. There also space for badminton, tennis, volleyball, kabaddi, table tennis. There are a lot of societies in DTU where you can join and connect with people. If you are an introvert and are afraid to talk to people, there's a society for that too. There are over 100+ societies but not all are active and worth joining.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels here are old and the infrastructure looks like DU campuses. There's mess in the hostel and badminton playing area. Food is okayish. Hostel charges vary from 52000 to 84000 depending upon your choices. It is most expensive for AC hostel but i won't recommend getting one because it is a 3 seater room and there's not much space provided for each. You have to apply for hostel before the odd semester starts.

Admission

I tried JoSAA counselling and managed to get CSE in IIIT Sonepat but it did not have a campus if its own. I wanted a college in Delhi only because i didn't want to go too far away from my hometown. And in my state (UP) there were not many good government colleges to choose from. Nit allahbad is good but i only got chemical in it. After IIT Delhi, DTU is the best college for engineering. There's also option for NSUT. But I chose DTU because of better NIRF ranking and Chill curriculum. You need to qualify JEE Main exam to be eligible to get admission also you need 75% or above in your 12th class. There also lateral entry but you won't see many students who got admission through it. You can get CSE here easily if you're from delhi region. If you have category benefit then it is even easier. You can get CSE under 50,000 rank if you're from OBC category.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is 1:60 in almost every class. Teachers tend to mind their own work and they only come to teach and no fun. There are some teachers like Shreyansh Upadhyay who show genuine dedication towards their work. However there are teachers like KD who can't even teach a single UNIT properly in the entire semester. There are some South Indian teachers. In think they have the knowledge but don't know how to deliver it. They are also biased and tend to give marks to their favorites which are often South Indian. (btw no hate to south indians). Exams are okayish. I've heard some people say that it is hard to fail in DTU. And this is true if you are regular in class have good attendance (85+) and don't bother the teacher. I have a friend who scored 5 in MTE and 10 in ETE. Still he was passed. Of course with a P grade. If you fail the exam, this means you absolutely did nothing productove in your semester. Course curriculum is a bit old for a few subjects like EECT in electrical.

Interview Experience

4

Orientation was held before the college started but i did not attend it. There is no separate test for admission. You need to qualify JEE main to be eligible to get admission in DTU. Then you need to apply for JAC counseling to get a seat in college.

Night Life

4

My favorite place is gym. It could be a bit bigger but it is what it is. You can roam around the campus late night and it is very calming if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend here. However girls are not allowed to go out of the hostel after 11 pm. But boys can. If you need a cup of coffee or something to eat during late night study sessions, DelTech cafe is the place for you. Right now mic mac or night cafe is closed but yoh can go for DelTech cafe. You can safely roam around in the campus but i don't recommend going out of it late night. Outside the college there are a lot of other cafe and hangout spots. Campus timings keep changing but it is usually till 9pm. Guards will say that won't let you in after 9 pm but if you state a valid reason or excuse they will keep you standing there for a couple of minutes then let you in after a few paperwork.

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

My seniors got placed in the 7th semester and a few in the 6th as well. As per them, the placements are the best compared to all other IPU Colleges. Offers from abroad are too given here. For Computer Related Branch, placements are to 90%. Highest Package has surpassed 1 Cr, and Avg. package is about 8 LPA.

Placements are decent, average package goes from 5lpa to 10lpa. Highest it has went 84lpa in Amazon so far and can for sure grow in future. 7th semester students become eligible for placement drives and companies like amazon, microsoft, newgen, tcs, ibm, etc are major recruiters here. Around 80% students do get placed but you can definitely be among them by refining your skills and maintaining a good cgpa. I plan to go for off campus placements as well as I'm interested in AI related roles but hoping for even better.

Placement Experience:

The placements are fantastic , many companies like google amazon and FAANG companies come here . Although i cant compare it with top IIT s but still a 25 lakh per annum package in CSE is still remarkable. The placement cell is often influenced by Placement coordinator but then DTU takes action against them and debar them from placements . If one does not get placement in DTU. , the DTU tag will obviously be more than useful in after course placements

Highest package for the last year was more than 1 crore. Avg package is somewhere between 7-9 lpa. 50-60 % students get placemnt from the college including off campus placements. I plan to either start my masters or join a good job if possible as whatever situation arises at the end of my course at this college.
