Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum is focused on judiciary examinations. However its not adequate for other fields like corporate etc. The syllabus is very easy and not challenging. The curriculum doesn't focus on improving your application skills. There are 2 semester exams every year one is December and one in May. Exams are pretty easy. The exams pattern isn't based to judge the understanding on the subject but only on how much the students can memorize.

Internships Opportunities

2

The college lacks an active placement and internship cell. There are a few govt. Organisations that provide internships and placement like ONGC etc. But mostly students have to manage to get internships and placements on their own. The college has a good alumni base hence, students can get good internship opportunities via the alumni.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course us divided in 2 batches regular and self Finance. The fee for regular is 10000 p.a and fee for self financed batch is 40000. There is financial aid available for rankers and apart from that people can apply for govt scholarships which is available at National Scholarship Portal

Campus Life

3

There are almost no fests in the college. But as its a university you get a benefit to attend fests and events of other courses. The availability of books in library is medium. You get access to 2 libraries, one is central for the whole university and one is specially for the faculty. You also get remote access to different journal and search engines. The classroom and infrastructure is decent. You get all the basic amenities. The classroom are spacious and have projectors. The campus as whole is very good. There are different clubs and committees at both faculty and University level. Different competitions and events are organised throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel capacity is not that good hence all students do not get accomodated in the hostel. However the hostel facility are pretty good. The hostels have a good infrastructure with gyms, common rooms and reading hall for each hostel. The food is good and the hostel are very affordable. apart from mess there are a few cafeterias also available in the hostel.

Admission

The college takes its individual entrance exam every year. The difficulty of the entrance exam is moderate. If any student prepares for clat then clearing the entrance exam for this college would be very easy for them. I didn't apply in any other college as I wanted to join this college only because its in Delhi and is very affordable.

Faculty

3

The faculty members are well qualified, however the permanent ones doesn't have much enthusiasm. There are guest faculties too, some are very good and some doesn't know anything at all. The college follows semester system. Each subject have a total of 100 marks, 25 internal assembly and 75 of University Exams. You have to score atleast 12 marks in Internal and 50 marks overall to pass. The exams are pretty easy, only 1 or 2 out of a batch of 60 fails in the exams.

Night Life

3

The nightlife is decent. Students are allowed to remain in the campus till 10 pm. There are gyms in the hostels. The campus is very big and there are many places in the whole campus where students can hangout. There are around 10 canteens/cafeterias in the whole campus, so students get a good variety of choices. The college is nearby a community centre also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My father chose Law for me and he was influenced from the general mass that was opting law at that time. The curriculum of law is arbitrary, it is very far from how courts work and operate, the real life experince is hardly taught and the real courts and law can only be understood through internships and practice. There should be real practicing lawyer teaching the working of courts at least once a week or twice a month to prepare the students for what they are going to face in courts and companies. The exams were Moderate in difficulty.

At IIMT School of Law placements are better than many law colleges. Last year only around 60-65% students were placed and even though salary offered was quite less but atleast getting direct jobs itself is a huge achievement when number of law students and law colleges are increasing by the day.

Internships begins after 1st semester and placements after 4th year. This is how it is and even though around 300 or so we're in the final year last year 150 around were placed from campus. So close to 50% is ratio of placement.

At VIPS law placements are quite sorted as in Delhi most chambers have made it a point that their first preference will always be students who have studied in Delhi. This gives VIPs a very big advantage as in private colleges ours is the best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive in my opinion as it offers me the openness to experience for the course I am currently pursuing. The course offers seven subjects. The subjects changes by semester system. Each semester offers different subjects, therefore, the scope of boredom will not arise. moreover, it will provide knowledge on every topic in depth. I do not found any disadvantage of this course.
