Likes

I like my civil department as the professors are really great , they are supportive and have friendly behaviour and maintain good student teacher relationship
The college has many clubs which you can be a part of and college supports every club during competition and events
College provides us with many opportunities like participating in India level competition and give us global exposure and train students for hycathon and many more such events

Dislikes

Sometimes they should understand and accept if a student doesn’t have 75% attendance but also not all professors complain only some do

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is great and will prove to he beneficial in future for sure . The things we learn in book are actually related to the practical knowledge we are gonna need in future. The practical's we perform really help us understand how things would be in real life and trains us well for future.

Internships Opportunities

College conducts interviews and helps students who are interested get internships into known and big companies. The college conducts mock interviews before actual interviews to prepare students and boost their confidence.

Placement Experience

I would say the placement is average but that also depends on the student and the CGPA and their overall performance. If a student has a good CGPA and has a maintained resume which is impressive then they definitely get placed

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am in Open category I have to fill full fees which is an avg amount of 1.5L . There is scholarships available for students based on category and marks they have received in the past grade (10th &12th ) which requires you to fulfill certain requirements (eg - above 85% in 12th).

Campus Life

I love to explore the many clubs college has and have participated in many would say they do teach you a lot . The building structure is amazingly designed . The college really supports students to participate into event and competitions on National and Global level .

Admission

The college is situated in the heart of Pune city which is Shivaji Nagar the main area where everything is easily accessible. The college has amazing faculty and has a lot of events and competitions which help us get a good exposure for the future. The college is under SPPU University which is one of the top Universities in India .

Faculty

Civil Department faculty is amazing they are very supportive , helpful always open to discussions about anything. They always motivate us and help us in every way possible, they teach with full heart and really make an effort for us to understand each and every concept during lectures and practical's. They focus on each and every student even individually which is a really great thing.

Night Life

As the college in the heart of Pune city everything is easily accessible for students which is food , classes , coaching centres , shopping , mall , restaurants , hostels & PG's . The college has Koregaon Park 3-4 kms away which is famous for great clubs , restaurants and food .

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

My experience of iiit pune

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.

Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam. I gave JEE and scored decent enough to fit the remaining 20% JEE based intakes in AISSMS COE. I am interested in the fiend I chose and look forward to explore myself within it....Read More
