Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is strictly according to PCI. Our college is NAAC A+ accredited. Our college provides various types of On site training and internships like Hospital Training and Industrial Training. In my POV, The frequency of the internal exams and the semester exam for the 1st 2 years is too rough for a newbie. They need to be properly introduced to the course and become friendly with the subjects.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year 1: 103400 Year 2: 101500 Year 3: 103700 Year 4: 110900 Plus per semester 1200/- (under MAKAUT) Our college is aiming to become a self University, so fees structure might get differ. My friend was from TFW Category and his yearly fees was around 15k. All kind of Government schloraships are available and according to their eligibility, students can apply for ONE.
Campus Life
The annual Fest is named LOGIN. Along side there are many cultural events for Management department which we are either unaware of or cannot take part due to our studies. There is One annual Conference named NATCONPH, mainly held in the month of September. Sports Events: I am not in sports too much but according to my awareness there is one annual Football league and one annual Cricket league. Other than that, College encourages students with sports talent and sends them to inter college competition. There is an NGO founded by the Alumnis of our college named Ghulguli. This NGO organises various camps like Blood donation camp, Clothes distribution camps and many different activities are organised. This NGO provides an excellent way to connect with our society. Library: It has over 50k books and has a capacity of around 100 students to accommodate at a time. Classrooms: The classroom capacity is of maximum 70-75 students at time. Every classroom is well equipped with smart projectors which enhaces the learning experience.
Admission
The admission process in my college for the Pharmacy course is either WBJEE or direct admission through management quota. The candidates must have a decent score in their 12th with Science background. The admission through WBJEE is according to the Rank. My rank was 4.9k in WBJEE 2022. So, in my case, I could've got admission to any college of my preference. I didn't got any rejection from any college, instead I preferred to be in this college for its affordable fees. Some other colleges in my preference list were: 1.Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri. 2. Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. 3. Gupta College, Asansol. And many others. Also, one of the reason to prefer this college over others is It has almost same number of Company visits as Guru Nanak during Placement and also this college has an strong Alumni connections. About the cutoff ranks: in 2022 the closing rank was around 55k.
Faculty
# Faculty to Student ratio is approximately 17:110. Though the faculty members are too reliable and approachable. # Almost Every month CA(internal) is conducted to check the academic progress of the students and in total 4 CAs are taken and a student must attend a minimum of 2 CAs. # Along with 2nd and 4th CA there is also PCAs(Practical) and you must attaend both of them to avoid year lag. # 1st and 2nd CAs are the most favourable ones as it is Presentation and Assignment mode and is the most scoring CA. The course curriculum is strictly according to PCI.
Night Life
My college dont provide Hostel facility. You have to look for a PG and there are plenty of it. The college Campus timing is upto 7pm on regular days. The library closes at 6pm. There are multiple gyms outside the Campus. And one cafeteria in the campus which is a bit of expensive to a student of normal background. Also, 2 metro stations are located nearby within 2 km. Near about 100 meters there are Fast food corners and one of the best hangout places for the students. The actual night life enjoyments is with your friends and with metro connectivity you can hover new places of enjoyments. South City Mall is located nearby which is also one of the places to hangout witb friends.
