Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is as per the NEP and is very relevant. It focuses on skill development as well as subject specific enhancement. Ba programme syllabus is very much relevant for those who are preparing for upsc or any other civil services exam....so it becomes an advantage to them

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year fees for ba prog. = ?7620 2nd year fees for ba prog.=?8320 Tution fees-500 university student welfare fund-200 college student welfare fund-150 university development fund-1000 college development fund-800 university facilities and service charges- 1000 college facilities and service charges- 2700 EWS support university fund- 150 Examination fees-1820 TOTAL=8320

Campus Life

4

SOL DU provide all the study material online as well as offline to all its students.... It has library portal online which is very useful for the students to get free access of the study material anytime and anywhere However there is no campus life as such in SOL DU

Admission

I choose for SOL DU as I was preparing for UPSC and it would be difficult for me as an aspirant to go to college regularly and doing assignment whereas in SOL i don't have to go regularly and there is no need to do assignment and all so it saves my time and the degree of Sol DU is valid as of any other regular degree

Faculty

5

The exams are so easy ...one can easily pass them without putting much efforts and also the other good thing is you don't have to make files or projects additional marks are provided through online internal assessment. Faculties are also good my overall experience at SOL DU is very good I didn't face any major problem and also the staff is always there to solve your query

Night Life

1

There is no night life included in SOL DU as it is not like other regular colleges it only held pcp classes on weekends that too not in a fixed campus but in the alloted college . If you want to enjoy a campus life and wamt to hangout with your friends then you should opt for a regular instead of SOL

Placement Experience:

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The curriculum is very broad and relevant, it covers both theory and practical aspects of the subject. It is very nice to prepare for further higher studies, though more real-world cast studies and interactive teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
